I thought I would use a villanelle to emphasise these days come around every year and though they may not always be here, there will always be days like this.

See The Dog Star Rise Before Morning Comes

Your poem evokes strong memories and images, Mike. Unfortunately, I had to turn my heater on two days ago. My internal barometer for "hot" is set closer to the tropics. Thank you for writing and sharing words of heat. Maybe it will help.
These poems sound like lovely summer songs playing while relaxing on a sunny beach.
