Deeper Wounds
Unhealing
By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

fractures splinter into deeper
mosaic veins of hurt, emerge
surface smiles, masking the bleeders
where silent cries resound, unheard
festering wounds remain un-healing
while careless fingers tear the flesh
from the wear of constant peeling
expose the scab where it was left
the words of consolation sting
when the lips they fall from lie
confessions spoken in disguise bring
another step towards goodbye

I’m with Sam. A lot of thought here.
Absolutely profound! 👏👏
You never really how deep wounds really go if they are emotional and sometimes even physical. Good job.
