Some People’s Shadows

Some people’s shadows
Stick with us forever
Some people’s shadows
Foreshadow a spark
Some people’s shadows
Make curious pathways
Some people’s shadows
Save you from the dark
I dreamt of my mother
And wondered what she’d do different
I wish that my father
Could again, hold my hand
I quietly hide tears under the covers
Remembering the pain on the day that she left
Somehow through the smiles, I still feel bothered
Wishing for more time to see them again

Some people's shadows. I love this.
Wonderful imagery.
When we lose our parents, we want to see them again. You will see yours one day as I will see mine one day. Great work.
Oh my ❤️ so poignant and so sad. Thank you for sharing these feelings with us.
Oh, Kelli. I still have both of my parents but I spend each day wondering what it'll be like without them. I loved your poem and am sending you hugs. I am curious to how John inspired it.
I love this, Kelly, and I love the pic you created for it!
Awe brought a tear to my eyes
Your words are so deeply moving and heartfelt. They capture both the pain and the longing for lost loved ones. Thank you for sharing such raw emotion.
