Comfort or Cure

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 13 hours ago 1 min read

Verse 1

You walked in with that faraway look,

Like you’d been wrestlin’ shadows all night.

Set your keys on the table, sat down slow,

Said you’re tired of tryin’ to make things right.

And I could hear the tremble in your voice,

Like you weren’t sure what you needed from me.

So I pulled up a chair, took your hand,

And asked the only question that set you free.

Chorus

Are you lookin’ for comfort or solutions tonight?

Do you need a place to fall apart or someone to help you fight?

I can hold you while you’re breakin’, or help you stand back up again—

Just tell me what you’re reachin’ for, my friend.

Are you lookin’ for comfort or a cure tonight?

Verse 2

Sometimes you just need someone to listen,

Not a list of ways to fix the pain.

Sometimes you want a plan and a flashlight,

A way to walk out of the rain.

I’ve learned not to rush to the rescue,

’Cause love ain’t always answers on demand.

Sometimes it’s silence, sometimes it’s truth,

Sometimes it’s just a steady hand.

Bridge

Either way, I’m right here beside you,

No judgment, no rush, no fear.

You don’t have to know the answer yet—

Just let me be the one who’s near.

Final Chorus

Are you lookin’ for comfort or solutions tonight?

Do you need a place to fall apart or someone to help you fight?

I can hold you while you’re breakin’, or help you stand back up again—

Whatever your heart’s askin’ for, I’ll stand.

Are you lookin’ for comfort or a cure tonight?
