My lips twitch into a smile when I feel your tight hug.
Your laughter is my favorite song, the best to sing along to.
Cheap beer has never tasted so good as when we're together.
When I catch a whiff of your perfume in a room, my heart lights up -
I see your face and know I'm not alone.

I chose the song "Nights With You" by MØ specifically because she wrote it for her best friend, which I thought was such a beautiful sentiment. MØ writes this about the song in a caption on one of her Instagram posts, featuring a photo carousel of her and her best friend:
This is my best friend and I. I was inspired by her and our past together when I was writing lyrics for Nights With You. The song is about friendship and about letting go of the worries - if only just for one night of escapism. About love for a person that knows u and all ur secrets and about givin the finger to the pressure that we and the world put on ourselves. - MØ

So many wonderful sentiments. I love “Your laughter is my favorite song,” it is such a unique and personal line. At age 65, I no longer have a “best friend,” but I do have many very close friends and one word I can use to describe my friends would be: Generous.
Such a fab and uplifting top story - it's funny when you're with the right person, it doesn't matter what you do, eat or drink. It's perfect.
