the gleam of the time of day when the oily egg yolk gleans
The leftover bits of summer, a neon glow
It hits the light and creates a haze
A major role in the future sunset,
The first step of her light
Gives the impression of something brighter than the sun
Is it a chartreuse angel I behold?
As Job said: "Before I go, never to return, to a land of darkness and gloom [Sheol]"
But to step into shadow and understand the despair and agony
The sacrifice and device
Of heaven
Her bright, ocean-wide eyes, a towering spectacle
What aroma does her eternal color
Bring?
honey, saffron, and anise, deep red fruits
Fresh cut herbs, citrus and spice.
It's enveloped in a different perspective
Such a decision that lives on it's own merit
A grace that doesn't mean to show off its teeth like a ploy,
And the endearing melody of the
Chartreuse Angel-Eyes,
Captivates all
Like a deep breath
Letting out pure sunshine
And maple fall.

I Love this Brilliant Piece 🌈✨💖👌💯😊🐦😉📝🌟💛
This is so beautiful, and lyrically constructed. I can almost see something akin to the Song of Solomon in it. The imagery is so gorgeous! LOVE this poem!!
Love this!!! Brilliant and beautifully written!!!♥️♥️💕
This was so breathtaking and magnificent! Your imageries were so beautifully painted here! You have such an amazing way with words. Like a word wizard! I loved this so much!
My favorite time of year, with all the magic it holds in store.
<3
I love that you left this so open to interpretation, all while painting with vivid words. It made me think of late summer, on the precipice of autumn, when all the green is sure to die… and how loving another human means you’re sure to lose them someday, because we’re part of the cycle of nature too.
gorgeous work Melly G!
Very well written, with an interesting biblical reference the context of which (in your poem) I can't quite place. Care to elucidate, or should this remain a mystery? As a riddle-poser myself, I welcome either outcome!
This is Beautiful 😍
Oh this is stunning, Melissa! Love it so much. Always love your poems and plays with colour. Thought it was great that you quoted Job too! Thank you for this lovely piece!
