”But she’s your mother.”

“Just let go of the past.”

“Get over it.”

“It can’t have been that bad.”

“People make mistakes.”

It gets so tiresome.

Some people get it.

More don’t.

They think because they put up with crappy behaviour, others should suffer too.

But not this generation.

We are done.

No accountability? No access.

Won’t honour boundaries? We’ll build a wall.

Pretend it didn’t happen? We will make sure you don’t get the chance again.

A generation of parents who recognise that the future is more important than the past.

Ergo, our kids take priority, not our parents.

A generation finally doing what should have been done by you.

But sure, it’s all social media’s fault.

Alas.
