To love is to open up, to bare our soul

To trust and to hope, to let go of control

It's to take a chance, to jump into the deep

To give ourselves fully, to love and to keep

But with love comes vulnerability, a fear of the unknown

A fear of being hurt, of being alone

We risk our hearts, we lay them on the line

We hope that they'll be safe, that they'll be fine

For when we love, we give a part of ourselves

We share our dreams and secrets, we lay our cards on the shelves

We trust that the other will hold them with care

We hope that they'll love us, that they'll be there

But love is a risk, it's a leap of faith

It's a chance we take, with every breath

For even when we love with all our might

There's no guarantee, there's no right

But still we love, we give it our all

We hope that it'll be worth the fall

We open up and we trust and we hope

We let ourselves be vulnerable and cope

For even when it doesn't work out

Even when our hearts are full of doubt

We learn and we grow and we move on

We love again, we find a new dawn

For love is worth the risk, it's worth the pain

It's worth the tears and the heartache and the strain

It's worth it all, for the joy it brings

For the happiness it brings, for the love it brings
