Bunyips in the Bunya Mountains?
Sensational II Challenge

Beware! Never stroke treacherous Stinging Tree’s hairy heart-shaped leaf!
Crisp mountain air mingles with wafting subtle scents of pungent leaf litter
Spikey Bunya Pines gaze from lofty heights, upon docile wallaroos grazing
An elusive echidna rustles; Catbirds cry; Pale-headed Rosellas chitter…
Festoon Falls tumble earthwards, begs us sip from her stream —amazing!
***
Disappointingly, the fabled Bunyip declined to make an appearance during our recent visit to the beautiful Bunya Mountains, in Oz.🥹
However, the birds were far from shy!

What a striking little fella!
So beautiful Angie!! This left me craving a nice little walk outside!! 💚
What an amazing adventure indeed! Loved this, Angie!
I kept reading Bunya as "bunga" because I'm used to that. Bunga means flower in Malay. Your poem and photos were so beautiful!
Loved the musicality and exotic fauna and flora in this, Angie. And I loved the name wallaroos. Wahoo for wallaroos!
I want to go there, Angie. Well-written.
What a beautiful transporting poem, Angie. It’s like you took me there.
You've got me missing Australia here.
