Autumn and Winter fairies battle for first frost

A valiant fight by Autumn, but Winter prevailed.

Pumpkins, apples and the last remnant of valiant sunglow

All came with hopeful hearts to witness the showdown

Russet-Red and Winter-dark's battle for the first frost

Russet fought for Autumn's wee warmth and cool beauty

Winter for her chilling bite of crispy air upon the leaves and ground

In her delicate grace and beauty, kind autumn fairy Russet-Red tried to stave off the wicked witch Winter-Dark's bringing of first frost.

In the forest, beneath the leaves so golden, secrets of the autumn air are told, and lived a fairy, Russet-Red and her sisters so kind, their hearts with warmth and magic intertwined.

In Autumn's golden rays, she coaxed the trees to glow in hues of amber- crimson, soft and slow. She whispered to the breeze gentle pleas, to keep the frost at bay, oh do, please.

But Winter-Dark, with eyes of ice and cold, crept from the shadows, fierce and unwavering. Her breath turned dew to sparkling frost, a sign that autumn soon would be lost.

Russet-Red, with courage in her eyes, faced the witch beneath the ashen skies, weaving leaves and light, hoping to shield the forest from the night.

Yet Winter-Dark, though wicked in her might, had a beauty, a serene, ghostly light. She spoke of cycles...endings, and how each frost could cleanse the weary heart.

Russet-Red sighed, and watched as frost began to spread far and wide. But in the silver shimmer on each leaf, she found a beauty mingled with her grief.

For even in the icy witch's art, laid a peaceful, silent, hallowed part. So, the fairy, with her warmth so bright, embraced the frost, in morning's coming of the light.

In acceptance, new beginnings blossomed, a quiet promise within the gloom. Russet-Red, in frost and fire's blend, discovered winter's beauty in the beginning wonder of the first frosted Winter breaths.
