Allow Love

Stop trying so hard for it

Open arms say, yes, yes, yes

waiting for

expecting it

knowing without a doubt

trusting the process

having faith it will come

living like amor already adores you

in the present

your present

a gift unwrapped

because you believed in the ribbons

decorating

embellishing

trimming

boxed thoughts

like wishes

enclosed carefully in heart’s chamber

blowing in the wind

but not away

❤️

Carried as dreams

made in the quiet hour

hope- conviction- allegiance

poised promises

delivered to self

guarantees shipment

a letter addressed to no one

no one in particular

envelope

licked and sealed

stamped with postage

travels

spiritual miles

to the appropriate recipient

name

unknown to you

not yet, not now

but wait…

❤️❤️

Yes, wait

expedited shipping

a worldly affair

needn’t apply in spiritual realms

a paper trail

prevails

and it will

when the trying too much stops

STOP!!!

you stop

halt heavy handed headspace

halt pushing poetic prophecy

halt right here, right now

raised eyebrows

squint and scrunch

yours-

brow beaten retrospect

“let if flow”

theme you neglect

is only first class mail

when you let go

sooner released

sooner appeased

love will prevail

timely

by a postman

armed for carrying

delivery guaranteed

when you are ready

to receive

❤️❤️❤️

Dear ones,

Allow love, it will come-

When you stop trying so hard for it

Thanks for reading❣️

Beautifully written Marilyn. It’s strange how love finds you when you’ve given up and are resigned to being alone.

  • I did stop trying to look for it. It did come. But then it also left. And it destroyed me. So yea, now I'm chasing away any love that comes. I don't wanna do that to myself again. Loved your poem!

A wonderful and often much needed reminder to just let love happen when it happens and never to try and rush love!

The Wonderful Poet strikes again!! Beautifully done, Marilyn. It's such a sweet poem, and it makes a nice change to focus on love 😁 And to echo Heather below, this had such a great flow to it. Really enjoyed reading!

Such a deep piece. I loved the flow, how one idea tumbled and morphed into the next. Great sentiments and writing :)
