As the remnants of the old year fade out with a whimper
The new year marches in with quiet grace and grandeur
She boldly introduces herself with fireworks of splendor
Declaring herself our new mistress of marching time
I fell asleep within the comforting arms of a previous year
Yet, awakened, refreshed, in awe of new expectations
As the newness of another year, has asserted itself into our lives
I find myself welcoming new thoughts and ideas
I begin to dream of changes, prosperity and upliftment
Of strength to face the new challenges a new year announces
Forward we bravely charge, our flags of hope held high
Determined one and all, to remain positive, tried and true
No daunting spirits shall slow our forward progress
Awaken
Onward............................Life and living awaits!
