Keeping our Adventure Dog Happy and Healthy, Even On the Go Whether you’re an active weekend warrior or prefer the homebody lifestyle, if you’ve got a pet in your household, it probably goes without saying that the best days are spent with them by your side. My husband and I have always led fairly active lifestyles, and when we decided to get a dog, we knew we wanted to keep that as a priority. Our dog is high-energy, so she’s been the perfect addition to our family. At three years old, our dog, Nisswa, is able to keep up with us on hikes into the backcountry, scrambling through the desert, and swimming through ocean waves. You can follow us on Instagram at @nisswathegolden and watch as we take Nisswa on dog-friendly adventures. We tend to spend a lot of weekends on the road in search of more fun adventures to conquer with Nisswa.

The Best Dog Food For Active Dogs. Created with: Ollie.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, my family and I adopted a Blue Heeler Cattle Dog mix, Kekoa, who quickly became a beloved member of our family. Kekoa is an affectionate and loving pup that happens to be deaf. Because of this, we decided to adopt another cattle dog to be his ears. We trained our second dog, Kaya, for recall and assist with Kekoa’s auditory challenges. Both Kekoa and Kaya have since become irreplaceable members of our family bringing us so much joy and memories that will last a lifetime.
