Golden Summer
Last summer, I had moved into my first home, and there was nothing for flowers in the front of the home. I had to add some color and make things feel more homely. I had gone to the greenhouse and bought many beautiful flowers ranging from Morning Glories, Daylilies, and Snap Dragons. Since I never had a flowerbed before, I thought I would buy flowers that beginners can grow and not have to worry about killing them.

Do Dogs Dream? Rest is a huge piece of your consistently plan—you invest around 33% of your energy doing it. Quality rest – and getting enough of it at the ideal events - is as imperative for perseverance as food and water. Without rest you can't shape or stay aware of the pathways to you that let you learn and make new memories, and it's harder to center and respond quickly. Whether or not canines dream isn't known with intelligent sureness, yet it sure is difficult to imagine that they don't. We've all watched our canines display rehearses in their rest that appear as though what they do in a totally ready state. Paddling legs, whining, growling, influencing tails, gnawing cheeks, and yanking noses move us to think about the thing our canines are dreaming about.

Dog Days in Ocean Beach
My inner peace is a dog day in Ocean Beach. Walks along the shoreline. Exploring the rocks in the small jetty that separates beach loving dog people from the other side where dogs are not allowed. The lifeguard tower sits precariously on the rocky jetty wall right in the middle of the mix and watches over us all.

Mr. Mystery Starts for Home
After spending almost a week at the dog show, Kathleen was more than ready to come home! She piled Mr. Mystery, Yuma, and Feather into the car and began her long drive. Any trip over an hour or two is hard on a puppy (and his tiny little bladder), so she made several stops to take him out and walk him. He walked on the lead as if he was born to it, stopping to potty as needed. Good boy! By the time she drew close to home, Kathleen was very excited about him. We customarily call each other at the end of a long drive, anyway, allowing the other person to "talk us home" so that we don't have an accident from drowsiness, but this time all she could do was tell me more about the little guy.

Conversations with a Mako
My mom named me after the Mako shark family. She could not decide between species since I have identical characteristics of both. I am incredibly fast, and I can become airborne at any moment. I am a food fanatic and never miss a meal. I am a rare breed and essentially endangered. Honestly, the resemblance is uncanny. Although Mako sharks describe me perfectly, I like to think my mom named me Mako because they are her favorite shark and I am her favorite dog.

Mr. Mystery Starts for Home
Mr. Mystery was born in the upper Midwest. I live in SW Mississippi--that's a long way for such a tiny little guy to travel! My friend Kathleen, his breeder, and I devised a plan that would make travel a little easier on him. He would leave his birthplace with his breeder and would stay with her at a five-day-long dog show that was just a few hours from her home. They would meet Kathleen there, where she would spend that time getting to know him. He would then travel several more hours to Kathleen's house, where he would stay for a week. After he had been there for several days, I would go to Kathleen's house, where I would stay and get to know him before taking him home. The trip to my house would be the longest stage, but by that time we figured he would be a first class world traveler and take the new move with ease.

KoKo’s Reflections on Puppyhood
KoKo didn’t know what to expect when she arrived at the airport, but she knew she was important. The airline employees worked late just for her arrival. But her long travel day wasn’t over yet. Another four-hour drive stood between her and her final destination. At least this leg of the journey was spent in the company of three other dogs and two humans.

A Nicely Wrapped Package
Miles was awoken by the angry sounds of a large truck barreling down the street in front of his house. He rolled over, wishing they had the decency to be quiet. He had a late night. Connor, his roommate was up late, TV blaring, clacking on the computer, music blasting. He loved Connor, but the late nights were a regular thing with him. He was still in college. Miles felt like Connor had always been in college and he wasn’t sure it made for a healthy lifestyle. He was worried.

Death by Chocolate
I remember when he first came into my life. He was so young and innocent; it seemed play time was unlimited. We both saw plenty of other pets or humans before we finally met. But when we did meet, it was settled. Instant match. I have no regrets and am glad to have called him my best friend for years.
