It's been said that people that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.
Buddies for Life
I would have never imagined that his breath would give me chills. We had been living under the same roof for almost six years. After a chain of mysterious coincidences, he ended up here, in my tiny little flat, furnished with the generosity of my friends, relatives, neighbours and even my driving teacher. Just entering the flat, you were trapped in a bizarre combination of colours, materials and styles. Mixing curtains and lamps from IKEA with my granny’s furniture would certainly be a nightmare to anyone remotely interested in design. But he didn’t really care. It didn’t seem to disturb his inner peace at all. Or at least, that’s what I had always thought.

New Kitten
If you had asked me six months ago if I would be getting another cat after my childhood cat had passed away, I would have told you that you were insane. I had Julien for more than half of my life. We grew up together, and as weird as it may sound, he was the closest thing to a "sibling" that I could have had. When he died back in March, I was sure that I would never get another cat. I didn't want to feel like I was replacing him. Then Binx was born.

Mitsie
Mitsie chose to live in our home about four years ago. She originally moved in next door with a young couple and would make the occasional visit to us with her sister, Pickles. All of that changed when the young couple had a baby. Things didn’t change immediately when the baby girl arrived, but once she took to crawling, on what Mitsie believed to be her sovereign territory, the visits became more frequent and longer. Eventually, her residency became permanent. Even when her original home was sold and the people moved away, all of us decided Mitsie could stay at Omar Towers.

10 Signs Your Cat Is Seriously Ill
As the owner/parent/servant of two cats, I can assure you that no cat owner wants to hear that their cat is seriously ill. If caught early on, however, many health problems in cats can be treated with relatively little trouble. The trick, of course, is knowing what subtle signs to look for before you take your cats to the vet.

Reasons Why Your Cat Won't Use the Litter Box
As any cat owner knows, there are few things more frustrating than finding a pile or puddle of cat waste on the floor. Not only is it messy, smelly, and potentially difficult to clean up, but it can also be concerning. Some of the reasons your cat might experience litter problems may be health related, so you should always keep an eye on any such changes and behaviors to make sure your little fur ball is doing alright.

Adoption Day
Once upon a time, I slept in a cold cage surrounded by other cats. All of us were alike, guided by peers, wishing for the same thing; a place to call home. I meowed and meowed in hopes that someday, someone would come and rescue me. Then that day came.

Runaway
Agent 9 wakens to the sharp, blue ocean that is Mimi’s unblinking eyes and the rolling wave of vibrating sound designed by nature to hypnotise. Trance like, Agent 9 lifts herself out of bed to the sound of a joyful meow and the pad of determined feet as she makes her way to the kitchen. While preparing breakfast she thinks about how much she loves Mimi, her only companion and her only family. An affiliation diligently constructed to protect herself and the life that she has chosen.

How to Get Rid of Litter Box Smells
Litter box odor is not something you should simply put up with. Cat owners can have a difficult time keeping litter box smells at bay if they have multiple cats or cats with interesting diet habits. Fortunately, there are many different strategies to try and reduce these smells, including odor eliminators, covered boxes, and changing your cat’s food. While it may take some trial and error, and some extra effort on your part as a cat owner, reducing litter box odor can be achieved.

New Housemates
When my husband and I moved into our house in September, we had three dogs and that was it. We haven't owned any cats in something like ten years or more. It's not that we have anything against cats, we just wanted dogs. Two months after moving in, my stepson moved in with us. He told us that he had a cat and her kittens at his old apartment that he hadn't been to in a few weeks and his ex wasn't taking care of them. She hadn't been to the apartment for a couple of weeks to take care of them. We knew we couldn't leave those poor animals there, so my mother in law took my stepson to get them and bring them home.

Nellie the Rescuer Cat
In another story, I wrote about how I came to adopt my cat, Nellie, and described some of the impact she had when our lives became mingled with each other. In that piece I touched very briefly on her ability to sense when I’m feeling down and comfort me.

7 Tricks the Pet Food Industry Uses to Charge You More for Low-Quality Food. Top Story - November 2018. Created with: Smalls.
“You are what you eat” doesn’t just apply to people; it applies to all living creatures. High-quality food leads to a longer, healthier life—and that’s what makes pet owners seek out high-quality pet food for their pets. This is especially true with cats, since they are obligate carnivores with very specific dietary needs.
