Pets Welcome!
It is difficult to imagine a world without pets, especially today with the bad news and media featuring the riots and protests that revolves around the wrongful deaths of African - Americans in the world.. Pets are the one thing that can change people’s mood and mental state in a positive direction and they really do make everything better. I have four of them myself and I never felt happier and safe before. Without further ado, I will introduce them to the world.

I wanna be a cowboy, Baby!
Meet The latest edition to my furry rescue Family! He came to me so disturbed he was required to take prescriptions of trazadone and Prozac and remained unruly. It took the patience of a saint, but this little man is a snuggly sweetheart that transforms into a larger than life beast when the doorbell rings! He feels the need to take charge of his older senior sisters ( when they let him!). We are a true work in progress and this cowboy’s work is never done watching out for his family

Adopting a Rescue Dog
My husband and I had shelled out a pretty penny for our first dog, a German Shepherd that we named Otto. Bred to work, he was from healthier European stock, and, we decided, that was worth the money. Besides, Wyatt was dead set on training a puppy.

Things I Wish I Knew Before Adopting a Siamese Cat
Last June, I adopted a Siamese mix cat to be my companion at school. Her name was Lea, she was so cute, and she immediately started kneading me when they put her on my lap the first time we met. I knew it was meant to be, so we took her home that day.

International Dog of Mystery
April 15 2004 to April 27 2018 Gilda Radner Baggott died after a brief illness on 27 April 2018 at the age of 14. Beloved dog of Kate, Brian and Mary, Gilda was a dog of unprecedented calm and awareness who came into our lives in September 2011. We arrived at the rescue shelter just a few minutes before another family who had been attracted by the adoption profile with the line: “Gilda loves children above everything…”

Why You Should Adopt an Adult Cat
When people go into a shelter to adopt a cat, they always want to look at the kittens. Let’s face it, kittens are adorable; they’re so tiny, and they have the cutest little faces. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from adopting a kitten, because all cats need homes. I just want to suggest reasons why you should consider adopting an adult cat.

We Got a Dog This Week and You Should Too
Meet Princess Eloise Blueberry! No I had no say in the name she was given, my children alone get that credit! I have no idea what breed she is, but she’s an incredibly sweet girl with lots of love. Right now she’s asleep about three feet from me and looking happy and content. She’s a rescue dog, so I was able to do my part to save one animal from the needle. It’s super important to remember that if you’re looking to get an animal, there are thousands of waiting animals at your local shelters waiting and waiting for a new home. Many if not all of them will end up being euthanized due to the extreme overpopulation and irresponsibility of owners who surrender their dog when they become inconvenient. Don’t add to that statistic!

Acquiring Samson
This is not a story that should be imitated, as a general rule. Impulse acquiring a living being nearly always leads to suffering for that creature, and humans should be better than that. My only justification is that at least I accept the lifelong responsibilities from my impulse decisions.

Adopt!
When you hear about people adopting pets you start thinking about shelters and how much better the life of the animal will be now that it has a home, but most people don't actually think about adopting a pet. Most people think about going through breeders, which I am not putting down as it is another way of getting a beautiful animal in to your life but going through a breeder is so expensive! Yes, you get the breed you were looking for and there is the anticipation of choosing your animal and waiting until they are able to come home but there are many other animals that do not have a home and are being put down due to over crowding shelters.

My Best Friend...Forever
The water lapped up underneath my chin and was beginning to cool off, giving me a chill. I reached up with my big toe and turned on the hot water, a tear rolling down my face when I thought about my puppy Holbrook. He was a rotty, but was also mixed with something else much bigger, making him a very formidable sight, but he was a lover. My chin began to quiver and I wanted to duck under the water until I quit blowing bubbles, anything to end the gripping pain I felt inside.
