Veterinary Staff
All my life, my jobs have been considered essential. I've worked in horse barns, at dog kennels, and at veterinary clinics. Even in snow storms with a Ford Fiesta, I made the trek to work to take care of the animals. Never in a million years did I expect essential to include working during a global pandemic.

Hey Shadows, About Those Things You Call Bagpipes
Shadows, you know, I really love you. This truly is said with love. But what the F*** was that racket you subjected me to on Wednesday? Not just once, but multiple times. You really push my limits of tolerance. Bagpipes I heard you call them. Those pipes should be shoved into a bag and burned.

When Vancouver Aquarium Struggles, PETA Exploits
Six weeks in its closure, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vancouver Aquarium is financially struggling to care for its sea otters, seals, sea lions, and other animals that call the 64-year-old facility home. The closure did not just mean a loss of revenue of about $3 million a month but also, a loss of about 2,00 visitors who patronize the aquarium each day through animal encounters, admission, behind-the-scene tours, and symbolic animal adoptions.

Cai, did you really buy a Husky for $50? Yes, yes I did.
I guess i'll start from the beginning. On snapchat I saw a mutual friend post a picture of a sweet furry critter. To be more specific, a 3 month old baby Husky. On the picture it said "In need of a new home! My owner is moving away and needs a loving new family. Can discuss price if you are interested!". Who knows if I was feeling extra sensitive that day, or if my puppy urges were at an all time high - nonetheless I swiped up and asked "how much?". To give a brief description of where I was at in life, I was working a 9-5 full time job where pets were welcomed at all times. In my mind I thought well this would be amazing to have a best friend for life whom I can spend all day with and take to work. In my heart I felt ready to take on this big responsibility (or so I thought) and decided now was the right time to finally get a puppy. I was also living in an apartment with a roommate who gladly volunteered to pick the puppy up with me. My roomie was on board, I was finally getting a puppy, everything seemed right in the world! After getting supplies and preparing to welcome my new baby, the "owner" said okay how about $50 for the Husky and you pick him up tonight.

The 2000s Movie Project: 'My Dog Skip' The Shocking Secrets of a Gentle Family Dog Movie
How can I get people to read a critical review of a 2000 family drama about a dog? I’ve written about unpopular topics before, but I cannot imagine one as unpopular, forgettable and easy to ignore as My Dog Skip. This 2000 release starring a young Frankie Muniz, Kevin Bacon as his dad, and Luke Wilson as his local sports hero, has been completely lost to time. If anyone remembers My Dog Skip or if the film has a legacy it’s probably the focus on the dog and a toilet in the ad campaign.

ANTS!!!
Have you heard of the Facebook group “A group where we all pretend to be ants in an ant colony?” It’s a lighthearted roleplaying group where the members pretend to be ants. There are elections for the Queen and everyone posts ant related memes and stories. At present, it has 1.7 million members. I recently joined and it's made me a tad more retrospective about eusocial insect. I’ve interacted with them in two states to date and those experiences have widely differed.

MY THERAPIST HAS A WET NOSE
To say that I'm a dog person would be an understatement! What's not to love about our four-legged canine companions? They are always available to provide whatever they feel we may need; often unaware of the fact that was exactly what we needed. You can always rely on a dog to act silly to make you laugh. Or placing their head on your lap at the exact moment that it is so desperately needed. Two of my favorite quotes about our furry friends are: "He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." -anon. And "Dog. A kind of additional or subsidiary Deity designed to catch the overflow and surplus of the world's worship."- Ambrose Bierce.

6 Dangerous Animals you should avoid when Camping in the Wild
Wilderness camping might be challenging to some people but to you it is a fun way of getting away from civilization as you becoming one with Mother Nature. Once you are out in the great outdoors, you might meet up on some rough terrains and various animals as well. Some animals in the back-country may not pose a danger to you as you carry out your exploration of the campground and its surroundings. Others on the other hand though, might pose a terrible danger to you and so it’s best that you keep as far away as possible from such creatures.
