The Elephant
The Elephant Once I had finally persuaded my father to take me to the zoo, and as soon as we had stepped down from the front step of the trolley, which kindly stopped right in front of the gilded and ornamented gate, I stomped my little five-year-old foot on the floor and demanded that we go at once to see the elephant. He smiled in his acquiescent and gentle nature and bent down offering me a privileged view from the seat of his shoulders, and we marched imperially under the ornamented arch that spelled-out “Zoo”, a name which represented then, to me, a wonderful and undiscovered land.

Xoloitzcuintle
Last summer I visited a virgin beach down in Mexico for my cousin's birthday; it was a good time. I was swimming in the sea when something caught my eye back at the shore, it was a dog, but it wasn’t the typical dog. I was looking at a Xoloitzcuintli (the one in the picture), rapidly I rushed to the shore to take a closer look at this magisterial dog.

Man's Best Friend:
When discussing mental health, it’s been suggested that being around our favorite furry friends helps release the ‘happy hormone’ inside our heads that make us feel, well, happy! As far back as humans can remember, the unconditional love we show our pets has been written and spoken about.

Rocky Roads
On the 9th of April my life changed. I got otto. It’s a weird thing really, that a little being can create such a large impact. And the funny thing is, is that no matter how prepared you think you are, you are never prepared for what is about to walk into your life. Well, this is our journey. Through all the chewed up carpets and shoes and bitten hand and feet. I will love you through all of it :). I’ve always wanted to start a blog about my life. And I know what you’re thinking. “Everyone wants to start a blog”. Well, I guess I’m like everyone else then but this has genuinely been my dream from a really young age. I’ve tried everything. Dancing, figure skating, music, acting, academics but nothing hits me the same as travelling. The thought of emursing into a culture, the food, the music, the dancing. For me, it really fits it all together. That’s why I love to travel. I love to feel the way other people live. And not just see it but feel it, live in it and experience it for myself. This is what I want to do. Pack my suitcase 🧳, take otto and follow the horizon. And as cheesy as that sounds, I like not having a plan. I enjoy being spontaneous and living in the moment, not worrying about what will happen next or what I have to do next. Feeling completely free of all responsibilities and duties (apart from caring for Otto). I guess the idea is to figure out who you are. For some it’s working, others it’s staying at home, going out, meeting friends but for me it’s Travelling. When I travel I can truly find out who I am and who I want to be.

For the Love of Parsnips
We were dog people without a dog. Gilda, our beloved international dog of mystery, died almost two years ago. No one and nothing could ever replace what she meant to us. Still, the kids and I knew something was missing. We needed the buffer pets provide in families. The calming influence that soothes difficulties between strong personalities all working toward their own goals while living together.

“Rare Blue Bees Seen in Florida”
An ultra-rate metallic blue bee has been discovered by researchers in the state of Florida. They believed conclusively that the species was extinct and no longer existed because they hadn’t seen the species for years. Yet previously found in four areas, “totaling just 16 square miles of pine scrub habitat at Central Florida's Lake Wales Ridge," the Florida Museum said in a news release, proving the species is making a comeback.

Why You Should Adopt an Adult Cat
When people go into a shelter to adopt a cat, they always want to look at the kittens. Let’s face it, kittens are adorable; they’re so tiny, and they have the cutest little faces. I’m not trying to discourage anyone from adopting a kitten, because all cats need homes. I just want to suggest reasons why you should consider adopting an adult cat.

For the Love of Pets
I have had pets in my life since my earliest days, a lot of us have. Few children go through life without asking their parents for a dog (if they don’t already have one) and in my adult life, I remember the joy of picking up my new kitten from the SPCA. My Robby is with me right now, snoozing comfortably on his favorite ottoman across the room. Animal companions fill our lives with joy and comfort, especially in trying times such as these.

ALL MY KITTENS
The saga begins with Sable Garson sitting in the chair at Krista's House of Fur. Sable is getting what she refers to as her premature aging covered up. Sable has been coloring her fur for awhile now. When she spotted her first piece of gray fur she simply ripped it out and had a glass of skim milk or was it whole milk or was it 2% milk. Sable just remembers drinking milk. After this Sable developed a milk addiction!

Lala The Squirrel
This is the story of Lala the squirrel. It was a spring afternoon when my neighbor text messaged me that he had something for my son Caspian, I told him to come on over. When we opened the door, my neighbor was standing there holding a cardboard box. We peeked inside, to find a baby squirrel resting safely. He told us, "I was in my yard when I felt something tapping on my foot." "I looked down, and it was this baby squirrel!" "So I gave her a pet on the head and walked away." "I turned to see she was following me." "I put her in the box near the tree, but no mama squirrel came, so I figured she has been orphaned and I thought I should give her to you and Caspian because you will take good care of her."
