Todi Cockatoo
How can I describe the feeling I have for my beloved pet. I met her in a pet store in 1976. She lived at Mr. Friendly Pet Shop in South Bend, Indiana. She was not for sale as was the owner’s pet. She stood on a t- stand in the center of the store and greeting customers as they would enter the store. I would pet her as I walked by with my 4 year old daughter. As I watched the parrot’s eyes spark and she bounced on her perch. She would remember me every time I walked in the store. Some times she would shout “Hi there Love!” Cockatoos are noted to be good talkers and their clown like activity. I was so impressed with her and could not get her out of my mind.

Meet The latest edition to my furry rescue Family! He came to me so disturbed he was required to take prescriptions of trazadone and Prozac and remained unruly. He feels the need to take charge of his older senior sisters ( when they let him!). We are a true work in progress and this cowboy’s work is never done watching out for his family

My touchable happiness
When I was a senior in high school, my dad brought a tiny Shih Tzu from an animal shelter. I named him 'Woogie' and I still don't know why. It was not the ideal time for my family to have another addition and we all knew it, when my mom pointed it out, my dad said

My Charlie
My pet Charlie was a rescue dog. An animal loving friend -Debby, said her daughter had found him in a field wrapped in barbed wire. He must have bolted from somewhere but Deb and her daughter couldn't find where. They put an add in the paper and also let the pound know that they would keep him if no-one claimed him . And after three weeks no-one did so Deb kept him. She had another pet similar in size to Charlie and mated her with him. So before Charlie was even mine he was a daddy and happy about it.

January
January is not a nice cat. Her predecessor, Voltaire, was also not a terribly nice cat. They say pets take after their owners. That’s what love gets you, especially if you’re a cat or a dog. They’re smart. They remember, have desires, experience qualia, but they’re not the greatest at abstract reasoning. A lot of humans aren’t either, so that works out fine.
