Bella Black, Survivor
It’s three in the afternoon, and Bella doesn’t know where her humans are. She hasn’t been sure of much ever since she was adopted from a Romanian shelter and brought to the UK. Just now, her adoptive humans left with no more than an “Okay, bye Bella! No, puppies can’t come this time.” Are they dead now? They’re probably dead now.

No Pets Allowed
I walk through the double doors with my arms full and my nerves spiraling. No matter how many gifts I brought along I knew they'd mean nothing compared to what she really wanted. It was our second anniversary and, even though she'd asked me not to buy anything, I didn’t want to come empty handed. Taking a deep breath, I pushed the elevator button and listened to the soft ding and the strumming of the motor as it answered my call. For 3 months id been making the journey here living separated from my wife. By now I’ve learned that in the morning, as well lunch time, was the busiest time causing the elevator to be packed, and that during the dead time the elevator came as soon as I beckoned. Mostly, I knew that I would be getting on the elevator alone and leaving the same way. No number of gifts would change that.

The Life of Poosey.
My Mum and Dad used to go out nearly every day and leave me home alone, but recently, Mum stopped going out. She came home early one day when Dad was already home and she started crying. Dad hugged her and I could hear her say...I've lost my Job! Job? Wonder what that is and how could she lose it? Thing is...now Mum stays at home and that means I don't get to do the fun things I did when they were both out.

The Toucans of Costa Rica
Perhaps the most well-known tropical bird, the toucan, is a symbol of playfulness and intelligence known by children the world over. They are highlighted on many a cereal box and candy wrapper! From a marketing standpoint, the vibrant colors on the box immediately direct the child's eye and when the child starts pointing and yelling at the top of their lungs, usually a sale is made! It's as simple as that!

Tucker, you little... !@#$
I’m sure if you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve heard of Shiloh, Lassie, Beethoven, hell even Marley, but no dog can compare to Tucker. You see we’ve only had Tucker for about 2 months, and he has already proven to be more than a handful. Granted like the saying “be careful what you wish for”, the saying is very much true. To give you a backstory on how Tucker came into our lives I have to start back in May. My roommate Shannon had recently lost her dog of 11 years and the house felt a bit empty. Sure, we still had Gracie-May (Pitbull) & Oliver (Cat), but the loss of a pet is difficult on anyone. As a collective we discussed whether or not to get a new dog, however my roommate needed time, which was understandable. Over the next few months Gracie-May’s behavior started to change. It was apparent that she was grieving the loss of Daisy. Her appetite had changed, she wasn’t chasing Oliver around as much. So, my room mates (Shannon and Allura) decided that maybe it was time to get a new dog.

A Lounge Singer's Day Job
“Well here we go, my shift starts”, Gus mutters to himself as he saunters from the front living room window to the office. His mom left a few minutes ago. At first he stood silently at the back door for a few minutes before running to the front window to peek through the one small hole in the blinds left by his over excitement months ago. The blinds are all closed so he relies on listening and peeking through the small rectangular hole in the front blinds that broke off right at eye level so he can stand and look right out onto the front street. Gus peeks through with squinted eyes concentrating on the driveway and sees her car drive away confirming she will not be right back.

My Dog Drinks My Whiskey
My dog drinks my whiskey, I know how this sounds. It is not what I expected but he’s left no room for doubt. This fluffy white dog whom I call my best friend, drinks my whiskey when I’m gone, and I don’t think it will end. My suspicions first began on a sultry summer day, I poured myself a glass and when I returned, he was sitting on my recliner looking at me rather expectantly. I was not sure what he wanted so I moved him to the side, got comfy in my chair and began sipping my whiskey over ice. He began to push my arm with the edge of his nose, while staring at my drink as though I’d left him indisposed. I asked him if he’d like some and he jumped up and down, spun a couple circles and then sat right down. I told him it was bad for him, but he did not take my advice. He just kept on asking, so I gave him a single piece of ice. He seemed rather disappointed, but promptly chomped it down and when I came home the next day, I found a bottle of Bulleit on the ground next to three bottles of Pop’s and his eyes were spinning around.

Fancy The Pomeranian
I have always wondered what my Pomeranian Fancy gets up to when she is home alone. She is two years old. And on a normal day she plays with her favorite duck toy, runs around the yard and takes multiple naps in between her day. She is also a cuddle baby especially in the evenings when we are sitting on the couch and watching TV. I normally drop Fancy off at the Dog day care in our area when I go to work, but on this particular day my curiosity got the better of me so I decided to leave her alone at home and install a hidden camera so that I can see what she gets up to in my absence.

Kitty Torino's Rabbit Challenge
I love my human, but she isn't the only lady in my life. By that I don’t mean having another female human. I am the neighborhood ladies man. The furry version of course. Right as my human lets me outside, I lay under the mating bush I have chosen, picking flowers with my mouth as a present for the next lady kitty that walks by. A new lady cat has come by the bush to stare at me as I lick my fur, deciding if they would like to get closer. The neighborhood black cat runs around trying to find food while spotting me under my bush. "Hello sir, have you seen any little rabbits around I can sink my teeth into?" she asks me. I wonder if she just stopped to ask in order to find a reason to talk to me.
