Crocheting birds nests for wildlife rescue
My creative obsession is crocheting birds nests. It all started back in the winter of 2019-2020 when wildfires tore through large regions of Australia. The fires caused widespread devastation to wildlife and the wildlife rescue centres in Australia were filled to capacity and beyond with creatures in need of care. A call went out around the world to crafters to make the various items they needed in order to care for the animal victims of the fires.

Hachiko: A loyal Dog
Dogs are great. I love my dog. He's the smartest idiot I know. Or perhaps the dumbest genius. Since the dawn of domestication, dogs have been our friends, playmates, protectors, caregivers, soldiers and even our food. There's virtually no society on Earth that doesn't have dogs as part of their historic social fabric. We lived together for so long that dogs can actually innately understand human emotion. And that may seem obvious, but as of this video, they're the only other animal that we've ever found who's able to do so, including the apes. We bred dogs to love us. And in turn, they've become an important part of human history.

Animal Cruelty
Animal abuse and neglect: why do people do it? I understand that you may be upset and you may be a physical person that wants to take your anger out on another thing, but why abuse an animal? Animal cruelty is a very common issue in this world and us humans are not doing any action to stop this. Animal abuse and neglect is a very serious issue that many people are ignoring. The definition of animal cruelty is “failure to take care of an animal”. There are many animals that get neglected, experimented on, beaten up and many worse things happen to them every single day. Most of the time, they get abused for things they didnt do and the most common reason why the owner might do this is because their owner is mad at something totally unrelated to the animal. The most common things people do in abuse or neglect is shoot or stab them, set them on fire, not give them the proper food or water, or not groom them properly. They do all this to the poor animal and the animal doesn't even know why he/she deserves it. Abuse and neglect is wrong, every living thing deserves to be treated with love and care. If the animal did do something wrong they didn’t mean to hurt anyone, so why abuse or neglect the animal. Some animals even get abused in movies like in The Hobbit.

Kiwi
This is my pet peacock Kiwi. He is a very sweet gentle bird. He likes to eat bugs and leaves. He also likes to sleep in my black walnut tree. Every night he flies up into the tree and sleeps. During mating season his tail grows long, up to five feet and he shows it off to the pea hens. I raised this bird from a small little peachick. If you visit a local zoo let's say the Oregon Zoo. They have many peacocks who can be very aggressive, this is due to be pestered by every 3 year old that visits the zoo. Peacocks don't take kindly to harassment.

Kitty Isaiah
The killer instinct comes in when you least expect it. One minute you’re enjoying the warmth of the sun on your coat, the next, you hear a foreign rustling behind you. You pause and dart your head around, in hopes to catch a glimpse of the unknown. The scan was quick, and right on top… right on top of the chair you are nonchalantly seated, is a small creature, what humans call, “a lizard.” This site isn’t uncommon around here: however, it is so close you can almost taste it. You slowly turn your body around to meet your swiveled head, and you wait…

How to Move On
I swear, my beloved dog had a Human Spirit. Pixie was my first dog. I had the privilege of having her as a part of my life and calling her my dog. She was one of the most attentive, loving and intelligent dogs I have ever encountered. Yes, she knew more than a handful of tricks; however, her kindness and consideration towards her family is what made her smart. When she passed away, my whole family’s heart shattered into pieces. It was one of the hardest losses we had dealt with. Who was going to lick our tears away and make us smile with joy, now? We felt broken.
