Wild and Free
The Trail It was a beautiful summer day and the birds were up and chirping. Xena trembled with excitement as our tires came to a halt in the Thompson Park lot. She tilted her head back and let out a howl from deep in her chest. Her bright blue eyes stared back at me intently. There was a twinkle in her eyes that highlighted their unique quality: one bright blue, the other half blue and half a light marbled brown. Her expression revealed a warm smile, but also one of discipline and purpose. I placed my hand firmly on her head and gently stroked the bridge of her nose. She let out a low purring growl. The intent in her gaze softened a bit.

Sparkey
I remember the first day we met Sparkey, sitting quietly in a pen of loud, barking puppies. We had gone to the town animal shelter to find a new family member. She was a little ball of black fur, just a small splotch of white on her chest. Oh, she was so quiet, dainty. The perfect addition to our family of five.

A Midday Dream That Was Taken Too Soon
It was an opportunity for rebirth. The type of afternoon nap that can only come after strenuous work. Slightly sunburned skin serves as the antithesis to cool sheets, and sleep begins that will end with a questioning of the year when it began.

Tennessee Lola Marie
The sign read: "No public restrooms." It was the second to last day of our family vacation, which happened to unexpectantly double as our honeymoon. Just two weeks prior, we were standing on the altar of a small chapel, just eight days after we decided to get married, right now. Shotgun wedding and a honeymoon with the whole family - why not; unplanned and unexpected usually resulted in the best outcomes for us.

Brushing Your Dog's Hair Correctly
Almost every dog need brushing at some point. Some long hair kinds require daily brushing, while others may be brushed once or twice a week. This is dependent on your dog's breed, haircut, and season. Many dogs shed a lot of hair at particular periods of the year, necessitating frequent brushing. There are a variety of dog brushes available, each with its own set of benefits and downsides. It's equally as tough to figure out when and how much to polish a dog.

A Girl's Favorite Companion
I have always been a believer in celebrating life, and joyfully remembering those who were once a part of it. A little over a month ago now, I had to say goodbye to my best friend since I was 12 years old. My sweet, crazy, angel of a dog, Buster. While there is definitely still a piece of my heart missing, I want to share with the world the joy, love, and comfort that Buster provided me with for all of these years.
