Why I Made the Switch to Fresh Cat Food and Why I’ll Never Go Back. Top Story - November 2018. Created with: Smalls.
It was 3 AM. I had been dreaming a nice little dream, then I rolled over and promptly woke up. Once again, my cat Molly decided it was time to throw up her dinner on my pillow and I had the unpleasant surprise of waking up with spit-up on my cheek. It was the third time this month.

7 Tricks the Pet Food Industry Uses to Charge You More for Low-Quality Food. Top Story - November 2018. Created with: Smalls.
“You are what you eat” doesn’t just apply to people; it applies to all living creatures. High-quality food leads to a longer, healthier life—and that’s what makes pet owners seek out high-quality pet food for their pets. This is especially true with cats, since they are obligate carnivores with very specific dietary needs.

How Are Police Dogs Trained?
We all know the agony of seeing a perfectly trained police K9 and not being able to pet his smart, cute, fluffy head because he's wearing a harness that says "Do Not Touch." Police dogs are one of the greatest resources we have as part of the law enforcement agencies across the country. While police agencies are able to do plenty with police officers alone, police dogs are trained for search and rescue efforts, to detect drugs with their strong sense of smell, and to protect officers from criminals. These dogs are extremely helpful to our nation’s safety, and they save lives and stop crime on a daily basis. There's a lot of work and attention that goes into training police K9s, from the time they're puppies until the day they retire.

Tips While You Travel and Your Cats Stay Home Alone
Cats are cute, fluffy predators that chose to be domesticated by humans. If you are a cat owner then I am sure you have the thought that there is a miniature lion roaming your house that basically owns you although they let you claim the owner title. They are playful, clean, and loving pets; although the loving part is on their terms, it makes it all the more special. To be fair, dogs are great pets, but there is a lot more that goes into traveling since they need to be walked and can be a bit destructive when bored. What I love about having two indoor cats as pets is their independence, so when I travel, I don’t have to hire a petsitter, saving me money to spend during my travels. I do admit, I am a worrywart, so through trial and error of products, I have figured out how to travel without worry and knowing my cats are safe.

Things You Don't Know About Owning Rabbits
PETA reports that rabbits are the third-most abandoned animals in shelters. Owning rabbits is different than owning other domestic pets, such as a dog and cat. When adopting a rabbit, you need to take into consideration that rabbits require special shelter, extra attention, litter training, and more. A pet rabbit is not a commitment you should take lightly, however, they are a good pet for certain people who prefer a caged animal over a free one. As with any animal, there are many pros and cons of having a rabbit as a pet, so it's important to know all of the necessary information.

It's Not All About the Puppy Breath (Pt. 2)
Three months later and Gracie is still away being trained. As a doggy mom, I am furious because I have missed three months of my puppies cute and quick growth. She was teething the last time I saw her and now, she will have a full set of teeth. She was so little when she left and the next time I see her, she will be almost full grown. Am I being selfish for feeling cheated? As a puppy parent, I don't want to miss those moments but I also don't want to be self-absorbed and prevent her from fulfilling her desire to retrieve. I don't understand the sacrifice that I, as a puppy mom, had to give up because who purchases a dog "TO RETRIEVE DUCKS?" I am going to be honest with you, I don't get it, probably won't and most likely never will. I've been allowed one visit, and very few pictures since she left and yet since this process began, each day that the sun rises and falls, that brings me one day closer to her coming home for good. In spite of it all, I know her journey was worth my sacrifice of heartfelt tears. Although I am not an avid hunter, it makes this mom proud to know that each step that she blazes through makes her a stronger, better duck retriever.
