A Tale Of Two Kitties

Cats That I Meet

Two Kitties

Introduction

This is just another excuse to share pictures of some of the cats that I see on my walks, and that sometimes come to demand treats at my back door. There was just Mrs P at first, but now she is followed by another that finishes the treats that Mrs P leaves if the magpies and birds don't get there first.

A Take of Two Kitties

Usually, I only see one cat, but sometimes I see pairs, and I thought this would be a good opportunity to share the photographs where I managed to get two in the same shot.

As we are still in January, there are not that many cats out. They are far more sensible than I and stay inside, and sometimes look at me disdainfully through the window. They are in the warm, and I am outside, exposed to the elements.

These were two sat on a garage roof the other day, although this was a long way from the road, hence the pixelation. While I have seen these two closer up (I think), this was the first time I had seen two on that roof.

I love this one, two marmalade cats on their windowsill in the warm. I don't know if they even noticed me.

Another pair, although there were three kitties in this flat, but since this was taken, they have moved, possibly to somewhere better, who knows?

Two on a doorstep, this may be the same pair who were on the garage roof earlier in this piece, but this was taken a while back.

Another pair who have decided that it is better in their house rather than outside in the cold (well, cold for them). Of course, I am always wrapped up warm. Cats do have their very own fur coats, though, and some, like the ones in the initial image, are fine to brave the elements.

And here we have a trio of kitties. The two on the left were in a previous picture, but I was really happy to get all three in a single shot. The first shot was in the big window, the second in a smaller window, but still a trio.

Another pair that I sometimes see, these ran under the caravan that was parked next to the house. The caravan is no longer there, and I don't think these cats are either. Hopefully, they found somewhere much nicer to be.

I know this is a rambling piece, but it is a trawl through my photographs stored on Vocal, and it is quite illuminating to see how some neighbourhoods have changed, and others seem to be virtually the same.

I feel a little sadness when cats sometimes seem to disappear, but families do move, and when they do, they take their pets with them.

Three kittens in a window, and this is back in 2023. I am sure I took more pictures of pairs of cats, but they seem to be a little elusive as I go back through my photographs.

A standoff between the two I used for the main image, so this is a current kitty photograph.

I often see these two, but I don't have any recent photographs, though I was sure that I had seen them in the last few weeks.

Conclusion

I have a lot of repeated sightings, but I have tried to keep all the photographs different, so I will leave you with these two.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have enjoyed all these kitties. Maybe I will find another angle going forward.

This is a very cool piece. It's also interesting because I walk my dog, Bubbles, pretty much every day and I don't think we've ever seen a cat. There is a couple who loves Bubbles and comes out to pet her, and they have a cat, but I haven't actually seen it. I do have some great photos of sunsets, trees, and various, random things, but now I'm on the lookout for some kitties!

Good job on this one Mr. Mike. I like your cat stories and your neighborhood.

  • Thank you for this. I check my subscriptions at least once a week and read the most recent. When I can, I catch up with everyone's most recent. Today this was my most recent story and I so appreciate you and what you write! Usually it is someone that just posted. Your post was from 10 hours ago. I have noticed I am posting less on vocal and in facebook vocal. It's okay though. I am working too much right now and learning how difficult it can be for people who work full-time.
