A Joyful Feline
How Taking Pictures of Cats For Cats of Vocal Makes Me Feel Good

A Feline Introduction
The title is a play on words. Yesterday I was feeling really down due to a hospital visit, worry about the outcome and when I actually got there my appointment was over an hour late, and I was sure t least two people came after me but were seen before me by the consultant but that was probably just a paranoid delusion.
Eventually, I saw the consultant and although my situation is still a bit “wait and see” it is probably almost certainly a good outcome,
I got home and went into a work Teams meeting which was more about people creating work, defending and laughing at incompetence so by the end of that I was feeling even more despondent.
So how did a few cats change that?
Feline Better
I am not a cat person, I am not even a pet person or a child person even though I am a proud granddad. I am absolutely fine if I can give them back and don’t have to look after them.
So yesterday I took a walk out to see if I could get some photographs to share on Cats of Vocal and on Instagram (links at the bottom).
Yesterday I saw a lot of cats, one had a sore leg but didn’t want to stay with me but he is in the picture below. The thing is when I see these cats out and I get photographs to share, my spirits are raised, they really are.

When I first started this I shared a photograph with a friend and she was convinced that the cat was lost or abandoned. We used to have a charity shop around the corner for The Westgate Ark cat rescue organisation, and I said I would contact them for her, but the reality was that Cats around here own the neighbourhoods and a free to roam without impunity.
Yesterday I met the owner of the cat below and asked if it was OK to share the picture and told her about Cats of Vocal and she was extremely interested and pleasant although she was herding several children at the time, but it was a lovely conversation.

I did see a lot of cats yesterday and ended the day feeling very upbeat. I think it was meeting up with the cats that actually sparked this. The thing is most cats run away but a lot do like to pose and sometimes even come to see you and be stroked.
You don’t see dogs off the leash for good reason. Dogs are very loving but do not have that feline independence. As someone once said, “cats tolerate humans until they learn to use can openers”.
A Conclusion on this Feline Therapy
I intend to go out today and maybe take more pictures of cats. I have already seen one who ran away but you can see him here.

I do this generally on a daily basis and the exercise does me good, but when you see the cats, especially if they decide to pose they do cause you to feel better, and anything that makes you feel better you generally want to do more, well I certainly do.
I know so many people who have cats and love them greatly and get love back from their feline companions, but my inherent laziness means that I could not have a pet either a cat or dog.
People have recently remarked that I have not been including music in my posts. The reason is that Vocal often rejects posts as having broken links if the video cannot be batched in a particular country. The link is not broken, it is just not available. Anyway, I have included a great one I found soundtracked by "Love Cats" by The Cure and it has lots of cats. Let me know if you can't see it.
