The Internet is a vast medium of excitement and wonder. Vast /vast/: Adjective; of very great extent or quantity; immense. Where do I even begin?

It is unfeasible for a working, socializing, surviving, and generally well meaning American to have the time to digest what is available. I was given an illness that was, and currently is as of writing this, undiagnosed. The rollercoaster that is my journey to health has been running on the fumes of science and discovery. I can't say it's been easy. I can say it is at times infuriating. I know this information must be shared.

I am not a writer and am presenting this information with what I hope is as limited bias as I am capable. My name is Mighty Beggar and I am 27 year old with a chemical engineering degree. There is no political, monetary, or notoriety fame to be had from this article. If I can ask of anything both pre, and post reading, it is that this information encourages the discussion of ideas and inspires future writings. Please don't remember my name. Please share the information presented, after careful consideration. Please don't discuss the title of this article. This is a collection of ideas, cultivated through meticulous research, presented via the medium of the Internet.

Remember. We are all in this together

I began my journey learning about fresh starts during an abrupt move from the east coast to the west coast in 2018. Returning to a cabin in the woods 2 years later would prove to be a fermentation plant for ideas and learning. Experiences can be defined as an adventure through life's wonders and mysteries. Self reflection is where we add our own definition to an experience. This is why my first step to a fresh start has its foundation in meditation.

Meditation

Meditation to me may be different than meditation to you. Meditation to we may be different than meditation to me. My style of meditation resides first and foremost in the personal. There are many styles of meditation both traditional and abstract. My greatest fear in my early meditations were generally centered around "am I doing this right?", while missing the important question of "am I doing this?". Whether it be from movies, music, or tv shows, meditation has been stereotyped into, as I like to call it, an "ohmed out" state. Guides and apps will tell you to remember to "clear your head" and all of the benefits of this particular style of meditation, without acknowledging it is arguably the hardest form of meditation. "Professional Meditation" if you will. While there are many benefits to this style of meditation it is important to remember it is not the ONLY style. This realization opened my mind to explore different types of meditations and what they can offer. Spoiler alert: living in the present is the goal.

Listen to your world

The most intuitive way to learn something new is to start with what we know. This is why my preferred method of meditation is to sit and listen. Sound is incredible in that is is an ever present energy, even in the faintest form. At an extreme example, tv static is noise from the beginning of the universe! (okay for old TVs but my point stands!). My meditation utilizes this as a calming and centering force. I sit, close my eyes, and open my ears in an attempt to identify any and all new sounds. That fridge humming I find annoying when irritated? Now it is part of my calming symphony. The rhythm in the rustling of the leaves could be the tempo I choose for the next song I write. I am lucky enough to be around nature currently, but even when I was in a city, the sounds can be wonderful. Birds coming around looking for an urban leftover snack. With each car passing, I'm reminded of all the people who pass in my little bubble of existence, never once crossing paths. It is a soothing reminder that we really are all in this together.

Unity

I spend a lot of time alone which offers me a chance to slow down and gather my thoughts. This is why my next step to a fresh start is understanding what we can do together. An old proverb once said "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." I never thought I would share this piece, as I mentioned above, I wouldn't consider myself a writer. This article may not get many views or may get too many views than I am accustomed to as this is my first article. To whomever is reading this, I am with you as you are with me. This medium of the internet has connected us in ways never known to humankind before, and I'm excited for what this collective journey entails. Internet /ˈin(t)ərˌnet/: a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities. And what a wonderful variety it is.
