Tuesday Is A Perfect Day To Crush It!
Be the leader of the pack, get out there, and kick some AZZ!
It's February 2025, and what does that have to do with anything? Even as the world spins us into the Twilight Zone of apprehensiveness over the news, proposed tariffs, Senate Confirmation Hearings that get heated, and many more issues, we have things from our private lives to worry over. You and your neighbor have them, and the illegal immigrant family down the street that works at your favorite restaurant has them. Everybody has something to worry about!
For some, it comes down to where your next paycheck comes from. Other people worry about things out of their control. Still, others worry about how their writing is going, where to put it to the best use, and how little their efforts are noticed. You could be worried about all of these things and more. What are you doing about these issues so you don't have to worry about them?
After all, there's only so much you can control! As long as you're exercising control over the things you can, you're doing everything you can, right? And what else can anyone expect out of you?
There are things people do to change their fortunes! If you're stuck in slow motion or without ideas, it's time to Learn, Learn, Learn! Developing a learning mindset creates advantages for you by helping develop a new you! Some of those are:
1. Resilience: An improved ability to learn from failures and setbacks but use them to make it easier to overcome obstacles.
2. Growth: Learning encourages personal and professional growth because it fosters your curiosity and pursuit of knowledge.
3. Better self-esteem: Gaining skills and expanding your knowledge base will help you to become more confident when facing various situations.
4. Better Problem Solving: Get reading for your problem-solving skills to be more valuable. A learning mindset enhances your critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
5. Being Adaptable: People with a learning mindset more easily embrace change and adapt to new challenges.
A learning mindset also helps you to see what works in the world. The ability to learn from others, even if you lack a mentor or role model, can help you change the game in almost any endeavor. Chances are, if you're on Vocal, you're a writer. Do you have a successful writing career behind you, or are you a successful blogger or influencer?
You might use Stephen King as an example or role model for a writer. Alright, if you do, you'll get no judgment from me. But honestly, King's best stuff was in the 80s, and in the 21st century, he's not the genius he used to be. At least you picked someone who was arguably very successful at what he does.
A person with a learning mindset will take the best of what King did and learn from it. That's what we need role models for, to give us someone to follow who is an example of what we should want to be. I bet some writers look to JK Rowlings, James Patterson, or Anne Rice. They're all good examples of successful writers.
Who do you look to as a written content creator? Que the laughter...
It's a little different as a written content creator. There are algorithms to figure out, tools to test your titles, and standard practices known to work to get people's attention. But you can still find someone successful to chase after, depending on your objectives.
What about the kind of person you are? Do you see where I'm taking you as you get close to the end?
In 2025, the one goal to have should be the status of Leader of the Pack. And why not chase after being the top of the mountain, the man/woman, the best at whatever you're doing? If you're going to do anything, you should do it as well as you can.
And with that thought, go into the world and "kick some ass!" Sometimes, if you're chasing a goal or dream, you have to kick down the door and tell them who you are instead of waiting to be invited. I'm paraphrasing, but Dwayne Johnson was once broke and down to seven dollars. Now, he's the man in Hollywood, Professional Wrestling, and at whatever he decides to do. Sure, he had talent, but he also had drive and wouldn't be denied.

Writing has become more important as I live with cancer. It's a therapy, it's an escape, and it's a way to do something lasting that hopefully leaves an impression.

I like your motivation story. I can see you being the next King Horror story writer. You lived a horror life. You seen things many of us have not seen in our life time.
Powerful message! A learning mindset and relentless drive can change everything. Keep pushing forward!
