Though the storm rages!

I have many ideas and stories to tell. But that will have to wait. There is one which has a human aspect to consider. Because life intervenes itself into the best laid plans of mice and men. It is never and cannot always be about us, per se!

It is with extreme thankfulness that I acknowledge the support which I have encountered here on the platform, and the lessons which have been gleaned from the wonderful patchwork of personalities, their writing journeys and kaleidoscopic potpourri medley and bodies of work.

Yes...I consider this human aspect of the project worthy of mention here. People count in the grand scheme of things.

The main and most important theme of it all for me right now, is to be there for a Vocal friend who has been the motivation for my being brave enough to begin publishing my writings.

Writers come and go here from what I have read so far, many come in blown by winds of high expectations, others quietly arrive with lofty dreams. Some leave with big paydays, others with pocket change or empty pockets.

Yet they are like ghosts blown between realities, forgotten in the crush.

So my biggest and most important project, is to see one such creator through her stormy January trials. You all know NA, which is all she will allow me to mention. I have and shall be there through the many doctor's appoints, the pains associated with a pending heart surgery diagnosis, all while pondering the financial aspect of all things.

January for us brings big decisions and hard choices, fears, doubts and prayers lay ahead as we make life changing plans, trusting in the creator and the universe to see her through.

Undergoing surgery must be a profound experience, both physically and emotionally.

Before Surgery

The anticipation of surgery can bring a mix of emotions—nervousness, anxiety, and sometimes even relief if the procedure promises to alleviate pain or improve quality of life. The sterile environment of the hospital, the pre-operative preparations, and the interactions with medical staff all contribute to a heightened sense of awareness and vulnerability.

During Surgery

While under anesthesia, a person is typically unaware of the procedure itself. However, the moments leading up to it—being wheeled into the operating room, the bright lights, and the sounds of medical equipment—must be quite surreal.

After Surgery

Waking up from anesthesia must firstly be a relief, you made it through alive, but it must be disorienting. Feeling groggy, confused, and sometimes nauseous, with pain and discomfort, depending on the type of surgery. The body needs time to heal.

Emotional Aftereffects

Emotionally, the aftermath of surgery will most likely be a rollercoaster. Relief that the procedure is over, coupled with the stress of recovery, can lead to a mix of emotions. This is sure to leave one feeling a sense of vulnerability and dependence on others for help during the initial recovery phase.

Physical Recovery

The physical recovery process I presume, will vary widely depending on the surgery. It often involves rest, medication, physical therapy, and follow-up appointments. Patience is key, as the body needs time to heal and regain strength.

Psychological Impact

The psychological impact of surgery shouldn't be underestimated. Some people may experience post-operative depression or anxiety, especially if the recovery is prolonged or complications arise. Support from loved ones, friends and mental health professionals can be crucial during this time.

Long-Term Effects

In the long term, the effects of surgery can range from improved quality of life and relief from chronic pain to the need for ongoing medical care or lifestyle adjustments. Each person's experience is unique, and the journey to recovery is deeply personal.

Any kind of significant medical intervention event id difficult, and it's important to approach it with a supportive network and a positive mindset.

So yes, this is my project.

Through all this drama of life, we still continue to work on the stories and plans for Vocal, maybe to further participation in the financial ins and outs, and for traversing outside of the platform. Delving into my personal educational projects and making plans for the future factors into the equation as well.

Through our nightmares and restless sleep, still we dare to dream.

Always an angelic guide emerges, offering company to traverse the winding and confusing roads with us, taking us to the next phase of our journey. Along the way, we converse about life and a new dream or idea is born.

I find joy in my dreams, ideas and my writing craft, building my days around them, while I tend to my birdwatching, my attempts at art, music and my Windowsill gardens. For within these I find a stress free harbor of peace.

Start with building my confidence and work my way up to doing what motivates and inspires me.

Fame follows, if we desire to pursue it.

Writing it here, I believe will have my plans written in stone, propelling me towards my own self-actualization, even without recognition or permission of others who may deem me not worthy.

I do this for me. Not for anyone's approval. Though it would not hurt a bit to be high and lifted up. But se la vie.

Here is to dipping toes into the new year's resolution on how to best keep promises made.

This year, I resolve to capture the essence of my journey. To celebrate each victory, no matter how small, and honor the perseverance that carried me through life's challenges. This garrulous and verbose soliloquy will stand as a backstory to the promises I have made and fully endeavor to keep. A shining reminder of the possibilities that lie within each of us when we dare to dream and strive for more.

I have plans to explore with my friend, both during and after she has recovered from this perilous trek into hospitalization and healing. After all, we may need to sell many books, sell some very expensive poetry and go treasure hunting to meet expenses.

Life happens, whether we like it or not. It is how we face it head on that will define our basic characters.

After all this is behind us, may we have some extra cash to spend on the promotion of all things Vocal.
