Dare me. To Emerge!
Starting in the present and finding Joy in whatever I choose to do.

How can I improve my interactions to achieve better results and enjoy writing for the sheer joy of it!
Many writers are well known here. I am not one of them, once highlighted as a promising 'Emerging Creator', yet do I await to fully arrive emerged. So, it is with gusto and guts that I insert myself into the forefront of this projected idea of 'becoming' in the new dawn of a year of big, huge and very gargantuan expectations.
Like so many others, I have begun researching self and non-self publishing sites, signed up on a few, submitted works, hurriedly deleted them, found one completely too hard to navigate, stewing on another and wondering why the heck they cannot all be as easy to navigate as Vocal.
Still, I will not give up. New ideas are emerging and bravely I am entering the jungle.
Just like Scrooge...I have Ghosts of books and story ideas past but still being worked on. Stories of ideas present, and ghosts of future fantastic plans.................
Going forward, I would love to engage with other creators who are like minded and willing to share ideas in a fun and engaging way... I do not yet have a big monetized idea, but it is producing stems and leaves inside my mind palace. Fruits will be emerging as I strive and grow.
I do however, have My Collaborative Writing Project idea both on and off Vocal: Join a writing group or find a writing partner to share ideas and give each other feedback. Hopefully, such Collaborative projects can bring fresh perspectives and motivation.
Steps to Get Started with Collaborative Writing
Find a Partner or Group: many to choose from on Vocal, it is just a matter of finding the right partner(s).

Online Communities: Facebook groups, and writing forums can connect with like-minded writers.
Writing Workshops: Enroll in our own workshops that focus on collaborative writing.
Set clear goals and Expectations:
Objectives: Decide on the purpose of your collaboration. Is it to write a novel, short stories, challenges or improve your skills?
Roles: Define each person's role. Who will draft, edit, or brainstorm?
Deadlines: Establish a timeline to keep the project on track.
Communication:
Regular Meetings: Schedule regular meetings to discuss progress and share feedback.
Tools: Use tools like email, Google Docs, Slack, or Trello to share documents and communicate effectively.
Brainstorming Sessions:
Idea Generation: Have sessions where you brainstorm ideas together. This can lead to innovative and unexpected storylines.
Mind Mapping: Use mind maps to visualize and organize ideas.
Writing and Editing:
Drafting: Take turns writing sections of the project. This can help balance the workload and keep things fresh.
Peer Review: Provide constructive feedback to each other. Focus on what works well and what can be improved.
Revisions: Collaboratively revise and polish the work until you're both satisfied.
Benefits of Collaborative Writing
Fresh Perspectives: Different viewpoints can lead to richer, more diverse content.
Accountability: Working with others can keep you motivated and committed to the project.
Skill Improvement: Learn new techniques and styles from your partners.
Support System: Emotional and creative support from peers can be incredibly encouraging.
Networking: Expanding your circle of writer friends can open up new opportunities and collaborations.
Fun Collaborative Writing Activities
Writing Prompts: Select a prompt and each write a short piece, then share and discuss.
Character Swap: Write a scene from the perspective of a character created by your partner.
Dialogue Exercise: One person writes the dialogue, and the other writes the descriptions and actions.
Collaborative writing can be a wonderful way to rediscover the joy of writing and build meaningful connections with fellow writers. 😄

"Absinthe of Wormwood", a book, among many in the making.
"Absinthe of Wormwood", is loosely based on my friend's medical and healing journey in abstract and the appearance of the lovely velvety white or greenish-silver stems, yellow-green leaves, and bulbous yellow flowers of the absinthe plant. For though it has medicinal properties, it is bitter-sweet in taste, referring the paradoxes of life, the trials and expectations.
The ultimate goal here on Vocal:
Improving my interactions will lead to better connections, understanding, and results.
Active Reading: Truly listen to what the other person is saying instead of thinking about what the next read will mean. Thus showing that I value their input.
Make honest, well meaning comments: Foster encouragement with more detailed responses and keep the conversation flowing. For example, "What do you think about...?" or "How do you feel about...?"
Friendly Language: Even if you're chatting online, your tone and language can reflect positivity and openness, invite others in, make them feel like they are communicating on a personal level.
Be Curious and Engaging: Show genuine interest in the other person’s experiences, opinions, and stories. This can make the conversation more dynamic and enjoyable.
Stay Present: Avoid distractions and focus on the conversation at hand. Being fully present helps you respond more thoughtfully and meaningfully.
Empathy and Respect: Understand and respect the other person's feelings and perspectives. This builds trust and a deeper connection.
Share and Relate: Sharing your own experiences and thoughts can make the conversation more personal and relatable.
Positive Attitude: Approach conversations with a positive and open mindset. Positivity can be contagious and can make interactions more pleasant.
Practice Mindfulness: Being mindful of your words and actions can help you communicate more effectively and thoughtfully.
Be Yourself: Authenticity is key. Being genuine helps build trust and fosters more meaningful connections.

Reclaiming the joy of writing can be a transformative experience. Here are some of my creative project ideas to ignite passion and foster enjoyment.
Start a daily or weekly personal journal to capture thoughts, dreams, and experiences. Writing about your day-to-day life can be a cathartic and enlightening practice.
My recent foray into a Flash Fiction Challenge ignited my curiosity to write short stories, typically under 1,000 words or much less. The brevity encourages creativity and helps you hone your storytelling skills.
Document adventures as a travel blog and share your travel experiences, tips, and photos. Even if you're exploring your local area, there are always new stories to tell.
Experiment with different forms of poetry, from haikus, sonnets and some of the other strange sounding types. Poetry allows you to play with language and express emotions in unique ways.
Memoir or Personal Essays: Write about significant moments in my life or reflect on topics that matter to me. This may be a deeply rewarding way to understand myself better.
Rediscover the lost art of letter writing. Pen heartfelt letters to friends, family, or even to my future self.
Join more Creative Writing Prompts: Use prompts to spark imagination. There are many resources here and online that provide daily or weekly prompts to inspire new stories or essays.
Scriptwriting: Try my hand at writing a short film, play, or web series. Scriptwriting involves a different structure and can be a fun way to explore dialogue and scenes.
Fan Fiction: Write stories based on favorite books, movies, or TV shows. It's a great way to practice writing while engaging with characters and worlds you love.
Ultimately, I just plan to enjoy this writing craft, let the words take me wherever words acquire wings to fly.

What a wealth of knowledge! Definitely something to return to when covering all bases for any project. Thank you for writing this, Antoni!
Nice job! I would like to figure out script writing too. Congrats on the Leaderboard place, good for you!!
Wooohooooo congratulations on your Leaderboard placement! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
Love the passion behind this! It’s inspiring to see someone so committed to the creative journey.
Your post is a fantastic blend of personal reflection and actionable advice. Embracing the journey with such enthusiasm is truly commendable. Keep pushing forward.
Wonderful Antoni!!! Thank you for this most thorough list. I will be coming back to it as a resource. If you haven’t already joined Vocal + Assist on Facebook, I would like to invite you. We are a fun little active community with many great writers. https://m.facebook.com/groups/vocalplusassist/?ref=share&mibextid=wwXIfr One suggest to widen you audience would be to Optimize your stories and articles for Search Engines. I have done that with many of mine. I now have nine stories with more than 1,000 reads each and another eight with 400 or more reads each. My Top Three stories alone total near 20,000 reads. Here is an article I wrote (in simple and easy to understand terms) about search engines. https://shopping-feedback.today/geeks/using-keywords-to-increase-your-views-on-vocal-media%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Oh wow, this is such an amazing guideline for us to follow!
Writing the journal entry per day and exploring complicated poetry styles will be my choices when I decide to jump back in for real writing. These are really great ideas.
💖 Returning to letter writing and the memoir entries look particularly intriguing! You've presented a lot of great ideas here Antoni! 💕✍🏾
These are excellent points and I agree with all of them. Great Story!!! Well Done!!
If you create a Facebook group that advocates and supports book publishing writing. I will join your group. I think you are a popular creator. Nice work as always.
Interesting project for the community!
Great pointers, and an interesting start for the New Year!! Taking on the responsibility of improving your life is no easy task.. Making New friends is even harder - I'll surely use them!
By collab to you mean writing together as well, or dokey providing feedback, suport, exchange of ideas etc? I’ve seen a few collab writers on here and on medium. I don’t think I could ever do that (write together) I don’t have the ‘range’ (that’s usually an acting term not a writing turn but what are ya gonna do?) 😅 I vaguely remember there was some editing group or feedback group on here..maybe it fell through ad I don’t see comments about it on Facebook groups anymore. Anyway sounds like you have some rad ideas Antoni. Good luck. Also I’m not sure about making it on here. I think one’s just grows an audience over time, Facebook groups. I spoke to no one on here for over a year as I didn’t know it worked hahah. Also sharing your pieces with the @vocal creators tag with a link to your story might help. Who knows. No one knows! 😄
Well-wrought! The written word is a spiritual journey as unique as the individual. You'll find plenty of support here, many good people who care about and carefully hone the craft, but it always comes back to what it will reveal to us about the self, about our most fulfilling place in the world. The oracle says "Know Thyself", but we needn't travel to Delphi to figure it out! Best wishes!
A lot of good pointers there. The main thing is to do things for yourself and engage and hope for reciprocity. Read other's work and gain inspiration that way. I have been on Vocal for four years, and while many know my name, few see me as a creator. Despite that I have seven books out on Amazon and some very supportive friends here. I don't know what the answer is, and I still haven't come anywhere near finding it. Excellent article
What a fun and spirited dive into the world of writing! From collaborative projects to exploring new genres, your excitement is contagious. Here’s to embracing the jungle of creativity with gusto—may the fruits of your mind palace flourish! 💕
