What can I say or do in order to get a message across to everyone? Should I broadcast it on every news source across the country? Or would it be easier if I mailed each and every person a letter? Whichever way works best, I have a great idea that could either make us or break us as a nation. This idea has nothing to do with age, color, sex, race, religion or national origin but it has everything to do with us as human beings. I hope that once you're through reading, you will look at life through a different set of eyes.
Are you tired of waking up and reading nothing but negativity on social media? Or turning on the television and hearing or reading about the same negative things going on around us? I sometimes feel overwhelmed by these negative events and find myself spiraling into a mini depression. I just can't seem to wrap my head around the nonsense.
If the feeling of uncertainty ever crosses your mind, remember that you're not alone. Dig deep down inside and tell yourself, I am a Champion and will not concede. I will keep pushing forward until I have accomplished my goals.
I sometimes find myself referring to the words stated above when I come across a difficult situation, whether at work or at home. Maybe you should too. Let's be real, we all face challenges throughout our lives. Just remember, holding on to your title depends on how hard you're willing to fight. Fighting for what you want and deserve, to an extent of course.
Most people fight for different reasons. Some fight for money and power and some for religious and/or political beliefs. My fight was a little different back in the day and a whole lot different now. At the age of ten, I fought the cruel temptations that came from influential family, friends and foes. At twelve, I fought to make it to the gymnasium in order to pursue my boxing career. At fifteen, I fought to make it to school on time everyday. At sixteen, I fought to stay in school and out of jail. At eighteen, I fought to stay disciplined enough to make it to the gym on time. At twenty, I fought to live a sober life and take care of my family. At twenty-three, I unsuccessfully fought to save a life. At twenty-seven, I fought to save my marriage and keep my family together. At thirty, I fought against a racist attack that cost me my dignity and my job. At thirty-five, I fought a grueling twelve round Championship match and was declared a Champion.
Today I fight to live a happy and healthier life, free of negativity, free of hate and prejudice acts. It's a fight that I believe is necessary in order to live a quality filled life. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, is that we can't always control what happens around us, but we can control our actions and how we react to certain situations. I've also learned that as human beings, we will never agree with everything others say or do. However, we must learn to be kinder to each other and judge less. Praise one another and build each other up to be the best that we can be. One kind word like, "hello or hey" or even just a smile can make or change someone's day. Not only can it make or change someone's day but it may ripple down and have positive vibes on others. This was the great idea I mentioned earlier. Do you think it's worth a try? "And Still" I wait for someone to prove me wrong.
