self help
Self help, because you are your greatest asset.
The Path I take
The journey to obesity wasn’t a hard one. It came from depression, it came from a dark place inside, where a small child wanted to hide. I wanted so desperately to not be seen or heard that I hid with the only thing I knew I could control. Food. I would eat snack cakes, crackers, chips, and anything I could, all while beating myself up for doing it. I hated myself for every bite I took, but at the same time, those bites would comfort a part inside of me that needed attention. The part of me that was starving for love, for acceptance, so starved that I comforted that need with food.

Self-Care, Not Self-Sabotage What Is Self-Sabotage?
Here we are going to talk about the sworn enemy of self-care; self-sabotage. It isn’t that easy to see what is getting us down, preventing us from reaching goals, or even preventing the desire to achieve. We all have areas of our life that are 80% good most of the time. For instance, some of us are comfortable with our work and friendships but don’t really have a dating life. For others, we are really good with friendships and relationships but are afraid to make big moves to start our own business. Self-Sabotage is universal, because everyone has areas of their life they prevent themselves from improving.

Your Life Is About to Have a Dramatic Change
When we think about radical changes in our lives, we always imagine something either very sad or overly positive. Like something broken in our body, losing someone we care about, or winning the lottery and going to live forever on a wonderful tropical beach.

Day One: Does it count if I took a nap?
Today was the official start of my 30 day challenge. I awoke at 6:30 AM and surprisingly really enjoyed it. It was still dark outside and my heavy eyes begged for the opportunity for five more minutes. However, I'm the boss of my own body and I wanted to get up at 6:30 AM so that's what I did and began my day.

Your potential
The brink and birth of a new declaration of victory in life's calamities is the moment life can begin again. The disappointments, the anger, the failures, the set backs, the uncertainties, the short comings and the unanswered prayers. Life in a series, counts as the endlessness of our hearts desires and inclinations. Reality, is our test.

NO MORE
Far too long... I’ve put others’ needs, wants and desires above my own. I’ve given my all without expecting in return. How long should I have put up with them treating me the way they did? Wanting to speak up about the mistreatment, afraid to be labelled a victim so I keep a smile on my face & praying the pain away. When I do speak up, my feelings aren’t taken as seriously as I would’ve taken theirs.

Day Zero
Today is day one of the rest of my life. I've heard that before and never really took the time to think about it. My time here is fleeting, and I want to do something with it. I feel like I spend everyday of my life waiting for something really exciting to happen. Like I know something is going to happen but I'm not sure what it is. I've been waiting for almost 21 years now and I'm tired of waiting. I'm doing going to do something myself.

Dealing With Uncertainty During the Coronavirus Pandemic
If you feel like you are dealing with uncertainty all the time you are not alone. 2020 has been a wild ride. No one could have predicted a pandemic when this year started. The coronavirus has changed life as we know it. Our sense of normalcy has become unrecognizable in many ways.

How to Break Up with Procrastination
It’s no secret that procrastination is one of the biggest inhibitors to meeting your goals. Am I right? Like, the two main things I consistently procrastinate on are laundry and exercising. They need to be done. But because I don’t like these tasks, deadlines go unmet, as laundry continues to pile up. I’ve done this over extended periods of time, which has created a very unhealthy relationship with getting those bothersome, but necessary tasks done.

The Importance of Morning and Evening Routines
The Importance of Morning and Evening Routines So…how are you fairing in Quarantine? I can imagine if you have been like me, well, you’re probably about tapped out from a not-so-clean home, your kids, and your work (if you’re working right now). Needless to say, this unusual time has brought about quite a bit of uncertainty in my life, as I’m sure it has for you, too. Our music school (Journey Music Academy) is 100% online, my kids are homeschooling (officially switched to homeschooling back in March — shout out to all of the homeschool parents out there — you rock!), and it seems like heading to the grocery store has leveled up on the “bucket list of daring things to do before I die.”
