Who Have We Become?
The American dream. What is it? Is it real? How can I achieve it and be happy? These are the questions we have came to ask ourselves and we aren't the blame. Ever since I was old enough to read and understand what laws were I was already a child with a "guaranteed bright future ahead." Now I question that with some integrity. We are all taught that the way of life is 8 simple steps. Go to school, get your high school diploma, go to college, choose the most honorable major, get your college diploma, go out and find a job with that diploma, live the dream, retire, live the retirement and pass away in peace. Is that really the route we want to go down.

Are eating disorder recovery accounts helpful?
You’re in recovery scrolling through social media when you stumble across an eating disorder recovery account. However, you come across a post about their journey. Inside the post are photos. Yes. We know the photos we’re talking about. Those photos. The photos you ignorantly save or screenshot incase you wanna look back on. Comparison comes along with recovery. As do setbacks and struggles. But what YOU choose to do with those setbacks and struggles are on you.

8 Qualities That Make You Unforgettable
I met Sarah five years ago, and my life changed. I vividly remember the day our Supervisor brought her to the unit and introduced her as an intern. At first, I shied away from her because she reminded me of everything I wasn’t.

Why Didn’t You Leave?
This year marks a new decade for me. A whole ten years of fleeing abuse. Ten years of me building myself back up, of not being afraid when my partner goes out, of not walking on eggshells, of not constantly being in flight or fight mode, and of breaking my codependency. Ten whole years - and I’m finally ready to talk about it. To my readers, you will be the first people who I have told this story to, and I hope it helps someone going through domestic abuse find their hope. There IS a rainbow, I promise.

3 Steps to Soothe Overstimulation
Let’s face it, sometimes, we live in a world that doesn’t know how to be quiet. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not always a bad thing. So many amazing parts of existence come from the busyness around us — birdsong, children playing hopscotch on the sidewalk, a roommate reciting poetry romantically at two in the morning.

Lack of Motivation
People claim to have motivation all the time, but do they really. Do you? Do I? Not nearly as much as I should! By the time I do things it is because I have to, not because I want to. There is a huge difference between the two. When you are in the midst of losing your motivation there are certain things that you can do to regain it. Some people say it is as easy as changing your routine, getting up and cleaning your house, or even just going to a park to relax and watch people. All of those may very well be options that work, for other people. But in all honesty, those options have not worked for me.

On Dealing with Anxiety
Anxiety is the most common type of psychiatric disorder. According to WHO, 30% of Americans have it. Most people suffer from anxiety, suffer silently, because their anxieties have not yet turned into a fully blown catastrophe, so they keep it for themselves, instead of asking for help.

The power you gain in losing expectations
Expectations. Damn! The word in itself sounds like a burden, which it is. I mean, expectations from others and the ones we have from them. It's an infinity well that we circle around pretty much our entire life, ever since we landed on this planet.
