The Final Lap
Diana had always dreamed of the gold medal. From the moment she could walk, her father had placed a basketball in her hands, urging her to shoot hoops before she could even spell her own name. Every year, she fought for a spot in the Summer Games, and every year, she was one step closer. Now, at twenty-eight, she was on the brink of making it.

You Gotta Keep On
Introduction This is inspired by a tiny thing that happened today. Last year our neighbours Ray and Michelle got us a tin of biscuits from Marks and Spencer and the truffles and biscuits were very nice, that I can testify.

A Year of Letting Go
As 2024 draws its final curtain, I find myself reflecting on a year that has taught me more than I ever anticipated. It wasnāt a year marked by grand milestones or triumphant successes, but rather by moments of vulnerability, introspection, and an unexpected realization: sometimes, true growth comes not from holding on but from letting go.

The Fear of Evil Eye and how it can hinder your growth
Recently, there has been much banter and controversy on social networks over this concept called Evil Eye, as if this thing exists and that some people's bad vibes or bad wishes have so much to do with our lives. Without much empirical research or scientific evidence being put forward on its basis, opinions widely vary on this aspect of life. I believe that the concept of the evil eye is based on cultural and superstitious thinking, that is, those who feel envious of your success or inner light may wish you harm or cast curses, which can eventually bring about misfortune or a decline in the blessings already in your life.

Food security
Knowing that you can wake up every morning and have something to eat is very powerful, knowing that if you ever feel hungry at any moment, you can just reach into your pockets and dig up some change then get what you want does so much for your mental state to the point where it can either enhance your productivity or disrupt it. Imagine this instead like the internet, these days there is little I can do in terms of my software projects without internet, even just distraction wise, the internet is very important because thats where all the content is found. You can look at it the same way with food security, there isnāt much youāll be able to do if you are worried about what you are going to eat that day especially when your energy is slowly drying out.

December Expectations
Today is December 1st. It is the first day of what is normally a busy month for most people. Thereās an expectation that you should be happy and positive, buy gifts, wrap them, attend concerts, enjoy cozy gatherings with colleagues and family, and then culminate in a fantastic Christmas Eve where the food is perfect, the candles burn brightly, and everyone is happy.

"Be it ever so heinous, there's no place like humbug".
Hilariously, awful Grinchy story of a horrid past year and a humbug to have to write about it. There was an annoying bunch of relatives, pesky lazy teens, warts and boils and an ungrateful green hairy body, horrid friends, illness and not enough finances to do everything on the bucket list. So now the Grinchy author needs to write a satirical story about it all, so she/he/it will feel better and justified for being a grump. Is the story true or false. Who cares! It gets the job done.

Romanticize Your Winter: A Guide to Embracing the Season Fully
A season of contrasts is winter. This time of year is unquestionably magical, even though the days are getting shorter and the air is getting colder. It's a chance to take it slow, think, and fill yourself with comfort. The goal of romanticizing winter is to find beauty and joy in its special gifts, not just to make it bearable.

The Day My Dreams Took Flight
The sun was simply starting to look into the great beyond, projecting its brilliant beams into my little, jumbled room. I lay conscious with considerations representing things to come going through my mind. I have consistently longed for an existence of extravagance, a day-to-day existence where money was no object. I needed to have the option to purchase anything I needed, venture to the far corners of the planet, and help those less lucky.
