Damn, This Scar
Our family was not prepared to lose the core of it, my grandpa, the man I called dad my whole life; he was up there in age but his spirit was one of a kind, a fighter even in his weak days. Some people felt it was ‘his time’ but nothing could’ve prepared me to say goodbye to my hero on Earth, so when people say that I was lucky to get that last day of him, of his true nature, I just smile because, yes, I am grateful to have been the last one in his presence before him leaving us, but the torment my soul felt in understanding that he tried to prepared me to say goodbye is just unbearable.

💖What It Took For Me To Learn The True Meaning Of Love💖.
Everyone says love hurts, but that is not true. Loneliness hurts. Rejection hurts. Losing someone hurts. Envy hurts. Everyone gets these things confused with love, but in reality love is the only thing in this world that covers up all pain and makes someone feel wonderful again. Love is the only thing in this world that does not hurt… Mesa Selimovic

Purpose Through The Process
There are times in life when we wonder what our purpose is. We wonder because when we are born, we are molded in the image of our parents. We are taught to think as they think and want what they want because they don’t realize that we were born with a purpose of our own. Parents don’t understand that there is a fine line between instilling values and allowing us to follow our own dreams to fulfill our own purpose and destiny. Its like we are born and given direction to become what our parents didn’t, and then on day we grow up and realize that is not what we want for ourselves; we are confused on what it is we do want because we want to be ourselves without hurting the ones we love. So how is it that we find our purpose? How is it that we define who we are without intentionally hurting the ones we love? Do we understand that we are unique, fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of Christ designed with a plan and purpose for our lives?

Damn, I Just Realized
My whole life I’ve needed structure to function, I’ve always needed a routine in order for me to be the best version of myself, in order to maintain my balance; it hasn’t always been the easiest task of course as we evolve, our lives change, and so does our environment. What I needed yesterday might not be what I need today, what I felt yesterday might develop into a different feeling today, I’ve learned to awaken to a new day as a blank canvas, and paint it’s way through the day, so that at the end of the night I can see how much I’ve done, how much I’ve grown in a single 24 hours.

The Other Side
Faith paced back and forth outside the barn door, her heart racing, eyes hooked on the seemingly unbreakable lock securing the chained handle. Overwhelmed by her thoughts and feelings, she weighed the pros and cons of entering through the doors that had been denied to her for her entire life. The crippling fear was granted some ease when she took a moment to relish in a soft cool breeze brushing against her face. She wasn’t ready.

Connections
A woman is in search of her place in the world. Her children have grown up to ages where they are self sufficient and her husband has found his niche and is thriving. The mother is perplexed as she continues in her same old mundane routine. She wakes up early each morning prepares the lunches, pack book bags, prepares breakfast, wakes the kids, takes lets the dogs out, takes the kids to school while showering them with loving and motivational affirmation, goes back home to work on her business and work, gets the kids from school, prepares dinner, does more work for her business or goes out for work if needed, bathes the kids that need help, cleans the kitchen, checks homework, tucks in the children, works out, showers, watches tv with her husband, then goes to bed and does it all over again the next day and the next and so on. Where does she fit in? She is more than a mother, wife and business owner. Where is her space for her? The woman has a deep passion for writing, but is having difficulty going down that path. As she sits writing each day she has become fascinated with the birds that continue to sing and chatter on her back deck. So much so, that she asked her husband to buy a bird feeder and some bird seed the next time he is at the hardware store. A few days later, she has her bird feeder filled with bird seed, but none of the birds that were frequenting her deck are showing up to enjoy the food. She fells disconnected, much like the birds were from the bird feeder. She feels that she has filled her life up with education, self help, love, marriage, children, business, and so many other things. But now goes unnoticed and uninteresting, like she is completely disconnected. She’s been working and dreaming of business venues and growing even more successful, but for some reason falls short. There is link missing in the chain, something is broken or rusted, the connection is uncertain. The bird feeder and her personal goals and aspirations are coinciding at this point. After several weeks go by she notices that birds begin to eat from the feeder. All it took was one bird to do it then the others followed suit. One by one the birds began eating the bird seed. The bird feeder is much like the woman. She is there trying to figure out what she needs to do and what to say to get where she wants to go. All it takes is just one person to notice your talents, your work, you. Coincidently, her daughter loves birds and shares that her class is studying barn owls at school. The uniqueness of birds and their many kinds, and how each one is special regardless of its size, color, habitat, wing spand, etc. ran parallel to the woman’s life. She too is unique in her perception and habits. She is valued beyond measure. Much to her surprise her daughter gives her a compliment. She tells her she is like a barn owl because she has a special beauty when the light hits her. The barn owl can only be seen on way in the darkness, but in the light all its colors perpetuate. The woman realizes that she shine so everlastingly bright with all the colors and pieces of herself that are hidden in the darkness. When the light overtakes the darkness she can find her purpose, live out her dreams. She is has to come out of hiding herself. As human beings it is life changing when it is realized that we are all special and have a magnitude of potential that can impact this world. Connections are made human to human, animal to human, Earth to human and animal to Earth. Light to darkness, being seen and hiding. We are all connected. Every atom, every energy, every living thing. We have to come out of hiding to receive the surges of energy that make us all remember we are here and we are one.

The Sessions
Is there a feeling in this world that you can say is more powerful than love? Many, if not most, people would probably argue that no, there is not. They would say that love is the greatest feeling known to man and nothing will ever come close. Nonetheless, there are people who completely disagree. Not because they don’t value love or haven’t experienced love, but because they believe there is an emotion even stronger. Loss. Everyone will experience some sort of loss or grief throughout their lives; it’s inevitable. However, some folks will be forced to face loss on a level that most people will only ever experience in their worst nightmares. And for Paul, that nightmare became all too real.

Owl Inspiring
I remember as if it was yesterday, the owl out in the field. I remember being amazed at how large it looked when it took flight, considering it was a just barn owl. I wondered what it would do next, would it hunt, sleep, would it be there again tomorrow?

Restoring balance
Most of my life I spent my time doing what's right. Growing up in a small town has its disadvantages and perks. Naturally I fell in line with everyone else cheering on Our fighting tigers and enjoying all the down south favorites...crawfish, sports and music. But there's always been the re occurring thought that there has to be something more to life then fitting in, standing out and finding love. Of course being a hopeless romantic I've always kept that thought alive that one day some handsome stranger would swoop in and get me away from all of my dramatic problems. Well 19 years later I still haven't met that stranger but I've met a few creatures.
