Life Changes
A long journey home tonight my mind is heavy and weary. I’m finding it hard to see too clearly. I feel my hands gripping the wheel tensely as all these thoughts run quickly through my mind. Fear of not getting to say good bye to my mother was the main thought in particular, as I got a message she had another stroke. It was then I truly awoke .

Emotional Roller Coaster
What do you do when your drunken by your own despair? When loneliness has taken you so far under that drowning in your own sorrow becomes your solitude. What can you do when your running blood seems to be your only peace. Your own personal war cry to fight in a whirlpool of shame. Who can you listen to when your inner voice has become your slayer of hope, and your voice of reason is now your voice of doubt. Your tears, Your screams. All ment to shout, help!

Forgiveness
Honestly, it has taken almost a year to even put these words into circulation. I remember when writing this, I was working through the heartbreak of my century. It was one of those moments where the world stopped and everything hurt. Although I knew coming back to a state of homeostasis would take time, I knew that forgiving would have to be the first vestige to recovery.

No Shortcuts to Health and Weight Loss
For some, losing weight is a never-ending battle that entails personal and social consequences. Being overweight is now a health problem for about two-thirds of the current U.S. population. Being overweight and obese increases the risk of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and some forms of cancer, and other diseases. As a social problem, being obese or overweight makes a person more susceptible to ridicule and name calling. In fact, it is now common to hear friends and relatives greet each other by saying, “Oh! You gained weight!” The more complimentary form is when people greet others by saying, “Wow! You look like you've lost a lot of weight!” Either way, the subliminal message of these greetings point to society's obsession with physical beauty. No wonder, many overweight and obese individuals struggle with maintaining their confidence and self-esteem in the face of society's aesthetic demands.

A New Beginning
I danced in a ballet company for the past four years. Since age eleven, ballet has been my dream, my purpose, my goal. Ballet was everything to me, and I gave all of me to it. Even still today, I imagine the wonderful rush of wind as I spin or leap. The feeling of complete freedom. Each time like a young bird spreading its wings for the first. I believe it is called inspiration. Last August 2020, I was finally beginning to reach my dream goals as a dancer. My teachers were gaining a new respect for me, I was becoming stronger, more flexible, more confident, but something was not right. That feeling of freedom was not as magical is it used to be. I felt as if I were straining to maintain a fire amidst a coming blizzard. Little did I know what sort of blizzard I was dealing with.

The Weapons Were Formed…But Didn’t Prosper
Prologue I’ve read hundreds of books during my 33 years on this earth, so you would think writing my own would be a breeze. I used to write when I was a teenager, see, I had this obsession with soap operas and anytime there was a storyline that I didn’t like, I would rewrite the story with my own twist. I only allowed a select few to read them, and since then I’ve been told that if I didn’t write my story it would be a waste of my God given potential. I’ve sat down time after time to think about how I should even start, I mean, how do you really start writing a story about your life without sounding like a cliché? “Once Upon a Time” is too cartoon and fairy tales, so I guess the best way to start is to introduce myself.

The Receiving End
“Thank you for coming, ladies,” Joshua Elliot said with a smile, pulling out the empty seat between Carla and Liza. “This better be delicious because I just postponed a date with Mr. Right,” Carla warns, snatching the menu the waiter left after serving them water and mixed nuts.

Professional Appearance
The Drill Sergeants were particularly careful on this part of the climbing tower. The rope hung suspended over a twenty-foot drop into a net. My fly-away hair was desperately trying to escape the neatly wrapped bun in the Oklahoma wind. On my turn, I crossed my legs around the rope leaned my chest against it. Shifting my body hand over hand, I climbed across the gap.
