A Day In My Life....
Hi there! My name is Luna, and I would like to share with you what I have been up to during this break from my normal life during the virus outbreak. I have been following WHO's (the world health organization) suggestions of staying home during as much as possible in order to contain the covid-19 virus. I completely understand how being stuck inside can really affect our mental health and productivity levels, making you feel like all there is to do is sleep, watch Netflix, and be stuck in your room all day. But what we have to realize is this can really be an opportunity you have been waiting for. Take this much needed time off to work on yourself; make over your room, try that recipe that always took too long, plan outfits, start a diary or plan out your future. As someone who was working a full time job, going to school full time, and working another full time job I have felt so much better with this break and decided to use it to work on myself. Now that I have finished off my semester of just doing schoolwork everyday, I will begin making daily blogs sharing what I did to work on myself or something I learned, and how you can do the same!

If You Ever Say "Something Is Missing in My Life,"
Feeling empty is something most of us have experienced in our life. It can be downright unbearable, and it’s hard to get rid of the helpless feeling. A sense of emptiness can be overwhelming, and most of all it’s hard to figure out alone.

The Art of Being Yourself
When do you feel as if you are the happiest? For me, happiness comes from a feeling of love. That can be when we are around people that make us feel loved, when we are working at a job that we love, but mainly it comes when we love ourselves. Because if we do not fully love ourselves, then our happiness becomes dependent on having to be around other people who make us feel loved, or working at a job we love - which not everyone has the luxury of experiencing every moment of every day, or even at all.

I Used to Think That Love is All You Need
Before I had been in a serious long-term relationship, I thought being in one automatically made you happy. I believed that having a partner meant you'd be perfectly content with life, and that everything would be fine. And don't get me wrong, I've never been a Cinderella or Snow White. I've always had my own ambitions and lots of goals I want to achieve - other than falling in love. But whenever I saw people in relationships be sad and unhappy, I was confused as to how they could feel that low when they had a special someone. I don't know why specifically I had this mindset. I guess I either thought the person's support would make you so strong that you could easily handle anything that would come up, or that the love you had for them would overshadow any bad things in your life.

Live More, Love Harder
They say that love is what makes the world go 'round. It's what motivates us and gives us purpose. We need love to thrive, it's a natural instinct. Places, people, hobbies, items, there are so many things that we all love. What do you love? What places, people, things, hobbies, etc. give you joy? What does love mean to you? In this challenge I will be showing you a picture, video, and social media account that I love. I hope that it can spread some love and joy to you as well, maybe you will learn to love these three things as much as I do.

A Beautiful Thing Is Never Perfect
My Love Story Is Tragic, Filled With Hurt Feelings And Scars That Will Never Heal.. At times I feel like I was born from poison. Destroying everything I touch. Every relationship, Every prized possession and any and everything I remotely cared about. There’s nothing left for me to care about. Because everything is simply.. poisoned.

Love More
Love and happiness are valuable commodities, it seems like the whole world is searching for exactly that even if they don't realize it, yet it’s so difficult to find either, and even harder to quantify those feelings, because they become more rare as you get older. But love and happiness are somehow easier to quantify when the reason for the feelings are right there in front of you, that’s what’s so special about content specifically on the internet, you don’t have to wait anymore to accidentally be happy or lucky and feel love. All you need to do is go on the internet and find it yourself. Some people believe doing this gives you a cheap thrill but I believe it's the opposite, they give you short yet powerful bursts of energy or creativity and of course happiness. How can someone say no to a little bit of happiness? And I have so many little bits of happiness.

Endlessly Sisters
Dear black girl, We were just like you. We know you look in the mirror and can't find a single thing to admire about yourself. As a little girl we would also stare back at ourselves in an unloving manner. Our skin as dark as coal, our hair that defied gravity, our lips that were disproportionately large, stood no match against the beauty that we saw in light skin, silky hair and thin lips . We hated our features. We were shown through the image of my idols and peers that we weren’t the only one who hated them as well. We also entered rooms to see how our skin contrasted with the sea of light pigments to question ourselves why am I not as pretty as she is, why I didn't have what they had, why I didn't have whatever it was. Us too, were raised not able to recognize how beautiful the earthly tones of brown were. We know what it's like to be asked if you wear weave like “the rest” of them, and how your strength and assertiveness can somehow be mistaken for being sassy, angry, or ghetto. We know what it's like to be asked if you are offended by the N-word, if you're capable of bruising, or to be told that your nappy hair needs to be tamed by the destructive chemicals of a relaxer because it is unmanageable and unprofessional. We know that there have been days when you wish you were a better girl, a lighter girl – any other girl than who you are now, because you're subconsciously told to hate everything that makes you beautiful. Or that yes, you are pretty…pretty for a black girl.
