How a Cup of Coffee Can Help the World. Top Story - January 2021.
When I was little, I remember the first time I had seen someone buy someone else a cup of coffee. I was around ten years old or so, and I was sitting in the back seat with my brother as our mom was picking up some coffee before dropping us off at daycare. To her surprise, the attendant at the drive-through window informed her that her order was paid by the person in front of her in line. Surprised and pleased, my mom handed over her card and told the attendant to keep the ball rolling and to pay the bill for the person behind her.

The Companion
The Companion It was a slight gust of wind, and a light touch to her face that awakened her from her deep sleep. She couldn't remember if she was having a nightmare or beautiful dream, either way she knew she was dreaming about him when she suddenly awoke. Was it a dream or was that real? She couldn't tell but it was all she could think about now. She gazed out her window and saw the sun beginning to rise on the horizon. As she rolled over unto her back, staring up at the ceiling seeing the light peaking through the blinders creating all sorts of eerie shapes and couldn’t help to think about how it has already been two full moons since he departed. She sat up knowing she had a long day ahead of her and it would be prudent of her to start her day. It wasn’t like she could fall back asleep anyway after what had just happened.

We either have to love what we do or do what we love.
We’ve always heard here and there that we have to follow our passion. What do we exactly mean by that? Do we imagine there is one particular job chosen by God which meets all of our needs and wants? Not quite, actually. We may suppose that we will be fulfilled if we decide to take our ideal career path. In fact, we likely may. Meanwhile, there is distinction needs to be made. Obviously, İt isn’t job itself that makes us excited, but our feelings towards that particular job makes us content and happy. Relatedly, while there are so many millionaires who are not really satisfied for their life, there are also countless modest gardeners who don’t have bigger expectations. As a result, latter group is relatively more likely to achieve happiness and fulfillment in their lives.

Remember Me
I heard him before I saw him. But Owls are always so quiet that I'm very sure he wanted me to look. As I looked up he landed on a branch 20 yards away. Bright white with black speckled feathers puffed up to survey my back yard. I love owls and I was exhilerated at the sight. I followed after him snapping phone pictures to capture the moment. Then I ran to see if the humane 'live' mouse trap I had set in my studio happened to have trapped a live mouse, a meal to feed my friend. Now, slowly, I brought the mouse out to the owl as a peace offering. With regal dignity the Owl saw my mouse as I tossed it toward him. He paused, then pounced, then standing on the ground with the mouse in his mouth, looked at me and swallowed.

Horizons
Hot tears streamed down my face that stung in the icy mid-winter wind. On my knees in the pasture of my family’s long abandoned farmhouse, I was a twenty-three-year-old man crying over a bird. Or so I would have been told by most people who didn’t know the history I had with a certain small Barn Owl. An owl that saved that my life once in my youth. He was one of the only true friends that I ever had.

Birthdays Matter
It seems as though the older we get, the less we care about our birthdays. When we were little, it was an exciting day when little Abby’s mom came in with cupcakes and candy for everyone singing happy birthday. It seemed like the best day ever! Or how about those Saturdays when your mom would take you to your friend’s house where fifteen other kids were running around chasing each other and playing with little toys from their goody bags while the parents sat at a picnic table chit chatting. It seemed like the time didn’t last long enough. You never wanted the party to end. Just pizza and ice cream and friends forever.

Why Gratitude Is Important In Life & Relationships
I love gratitude. In fact, I express it constantly and consistently to those important around me. Gratitude was never my strongest suit in my childhood years. But as I grew older, I found that gratitude is not only an important feeling to have—it’s also essential for others to feel it.

Pink pig tails and a ponytail dress
A pink dress and pigtails, not she. Is she a feminist? She wondered. Biased? Or merely jaded? She wondered why her interactions with the masculine have been, historically, combative, argumentative, a fight on subjects such as principles, morals and boundaries. It seemed so random, she thought, she wondered if the others in her tribe were approached with similarity. She wondered how they might respond and if it brought them satisfaction, resolution and shared enlightenment or were the interactions an extension of a deeper darker undertow?

A whole new world.
NOTE: Those suffering from existential crisis: PROCEED WITH CAUTION. Let it be known, I haven't been alive long. I suppose depending on where you live, how you live and who you know, your definition of 'adulthood' will differ from mine. However, Regardless of circumstance, cultural variance or contact portfolio, I can't help but ask... ...were you scared too? 'cause I am STILL freaking out. Whoever said that being an adult is not easy was OVER-understating the truth.
