happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
You will become dizzy
Nobody cares when I dance at the thrift store, the place where my passion begins. I can’t help but move to the Motown, disco and rock as I flip through hangers in a slot machine player’s trance. Will the next shirt be a winner? Will the next tee show an orange tabby cat riding a unicorn toward a space ship? As I flip and groove nobody seems to care. The other customers are caught up in their own dreams of what a new, old piece of clothing can bring – maybe money, confidence or love.

Sight-impaired Artist Creating Happiness-SACH
Through my art I have the ability to transform images and ideas that I create in a space of pure consciousness, to be fully expressed in our third dimensional plane of existence. In creating artistically my living reality by extension is healthier, happier, fuller, more enriched, more vibrant and abundantly prosperous. Art is my lifeline and I derive great pleasure in tapping into it to support my wellbeing, and to share this amazing resource to support the sustained wellbeing of others.

#CraftAsACopingMechanism
As a lapsed Fashion graduate who had turned my back on the industry 5 long years ago, I never could have predicted that the pandemic and my recently forged path as a Yoga Teacher would be the recipe needed to reignite my passion for craft in such a big way.

Building an author image from nothing.
I have spent years writing stories but never showing them to anyone. As a teenager I would sit at my grandad dinning room table with a pen and a sheets of paper and write my debut book 'Last to Survive'. It was not until I got to college and university that I really dived into my writing where I started to learn many things and I am still learning as I carry on down the road to becoming a full time self published author.

My love affair with paper mobiles
Have you ever fallen in love at first sight? Well, I have and it was about 3 years ago. I was walking down the street on a normal day lost in my mundane thoughts and suddenly my inner voice came in and said, "Stop! Look to the right!" I looked over my shoulder and all of a sudden there was this bright light shining on the object of my desire. I didn't even know that I had a desire prior to this moment, but it was obviously staring me in the face and I was utterly shocked by its beauty.

Creativity is emotion, communication, memory and movement
When I was younger, and I still had many first times ahead of me, creativity came to me like miniature explosions in my head. They were utterly unfiltered and infantile, and I could not always trade on them because I did not know how.

Crochet Actually
Everyone remembers the opening scene to the movie Love Actually. Frantic eyes scanning the airport arrivals gate, then a familiar face is found in the crowd. Eyes lock, smiles emerge, excitement grows, arms open wide and, hearts melt with a warm embrace. Stop, right there; that very moment of hearts melting; it brings tears to your eyes and a warm fuzzy feeling inside. That is my favourite part of creating a gift for someone. To create happiness by triggering others to feel a heartfelt emotion, and even for some; teleporting them back to a reminiscent time in the past.

I Can Do That!
I can't remember a time where doing something creative was not on my list. I love to create, from the simplest project to giant Pac-Man arcade machines made entirely of cardboard, I have always loved it. I am not kidding about the Pac-Man arcade machine either. My family is huge on themed birthday parties and for my Uncle's 50th birthday we decided on an 80's themed party. I had the bright idea that I could make all of the decorations out of cardboard. There was everything from converse shoes to cardboard cut outs of Megaman and Mario, but the star of the show was the Pac-Man machine that everyone in the pub kept trying to play. If I ever make one again, I am going to make sure to include a real coin slot because I could have made some good money that night.

Mid-Twenties and Killing It
Life after college…we dream about it all the time. Living life as a young adult with a new consistent stream of revenue, working in our careers, going on luxurious trips, making big investments in homes and cars. I expected nothing less than all of these things post college graduation in May 2017. After all, I had a signed job offer in a new and exciting city, had the support and backing of friends and family, and was super optimistic about my future. I prepared myself as best as I knew how for living my best life as a young adult, but of course I was a nervous 22 year old who was dead set on making my dreams come true.

Integration through creating
My husband is nomadic! He (like I), was born and grew up in South Africa. He in coastal Port Elizabeth, me in "tThe big smoke" Johannesburg. But maybe due to his Dutch mom taking him to visit the family in Holland over the years, maybe his taste of living abroad just before we met in South Africa; I'm not totally sure of the reason, but, he's nomadic.

Creating Memories
Arghhh! I can’t believe I forgot to hem my wedding dress! Yes that is a thought, and a statement, I uttered the day before I was to walk down the aisle. Just hours out from the moment, I had a very full satin skirt that needed to be taken from frayed and uneven to neatly invisibly stitched.
