happiness
Happiness, defined; things that help you find happiness, keep it, and share it with others.
Our Action Reflects Our Personality
Talking negatively about others not only harms the person to whom our words are aimed, but also damages our credibility and reputation. Our words convince others that our position is to blame, that there are deficiencies that do not exist, or that we are taking unfair advantage of something that does not exist. When we speak ill of others, some see it as a ploy for our own personal advantage.

What Keeps Me Going
What Keeps Me Going There are many factors when considering what keeps me going. Family is the main reason I continue through life. During the summer, I take my family places, such as the water park or other areas people bring their families to during summer vacation. One of my favorite places we went before moving to Topeka was Pumpkin Hollow. We had a great time together! There was horse riding; we walked through the corn maze, rode on a train, took crazy pictures of each other. We bought a couple of pumpkins as they are always huge. We got Indian corn and some gords. We ended up making birdhouses out of the gords. It was great family fun, but when the sun went down, it became a terror Forrest! They called it Horror in the Hollow! I started to stay, but my son and daughter did not want to remain as they were frightened at the mere mention of the name Horror in the Hollow. So we bought some shirts from Pumpkin Hollow and went back home.

Breaking the frustration hurdle
When was the last time you did something out of your comfort zone? What was the thing that you did entirely new to you? When did you gain a new experience? If you haven't done any of these things, then we are afraid that you haven't gotten to the pinnacle of your success. In order to achieve success, you must have to overcome the frustration and failure of new things—the frustration of getting out of your comfort zone and doing absolutely new things for you.

Why Do I Smile?
I have lost count of the sheer number of times others have commented on my positive nature and the sheer fact that I am always smiling. It has always seemed just so perplexing to others for someone to be so happy all of the time. I've even had old colleagues and friends make comments such as, "I've never seen you angry" or "Why in the world are you so happy right now".

Morning
The sun rose over the tree line--an alchemist turning the fields around it into a brief, dazzling gold. The morning air was a cool reprieve to the humid days of summer. The birds were in full song, and occasionally the sound of a cow joined in. During this ephemeral time of my childhood, my heart felt suspended between peace and the sense that something new and exciting was on its way. I spent these moments in a sort of reverie of hope.

Runner's high
You know the sound a record player makes when you first put on the record and the music hasn’t started yet? It is a fuzzy type of sound. That is how I describe what happens in my head when I run. People have told me that when they run, they solve problems or come up with new ideas. Not me. When I run my brain almost shuts off. I typically remember moments of my run, like a tree in the woods, when a specific song came on, or when I felt like I got my second wind, things like that. But as far as thoughts – cohesive world problem-solving thoughts – nope not one, not ever.

I am only Human
I am only human. I have problems, issues, challenges that prevent me from excelling in life like I want to. I didn’t get the promotion that could have solved all of my financial problems, I am in an endless battle with my school that is preventing me from continuing my education, and I have a job that is filled with people who are ok with being average and blending in. I am no one ordinary, I am only human. I also have my frustrations with these issues, as anyone might, and my frustrations are taken out in my art. Crocheting.

Peace In Fantasy
What gives me inner peace and helps the rest of the world disappear isn’t always the same craft, activity, or action. Some things come and go constantly or always stay. Others come and go and might never come back. I find that to be quite normal considering how large the world is and all the different things we have yet to discover and enjoy. Not all activities offer the same peace, but they brought me a moment of happiness all the same.

Camp
Camp. Such a simple word that has meant so much to me. I started as a camper when I was in the fourth grade. Why my parents thought it was such a wonderful idea to send their only child 7 hours away for two weeks I will never know, but I am so incredibly grateful they did.

The Gentle Art
Do you ever come home from work and feel like you’ve just spent all day in a blender? We’re constantly creating technology to make our lives easier, but we tend to use it to complicate our routines even more. I like to combat this encroachment of chaos by immersing myself fully in some other endeavor. But a mere distraction from the mundane will not do, no sir. In my hobbies I look for activities that amplify all the best qualities of the human experience. I want to enrich my life, not pass the time. The worthiest undertakings to me engage the body physically, challenge the brain mentally and develop the character morally. I have found all these virtues and more through the practice of Jiu-Jitsu.
