The Femquarters
White noise and static has always been on my 'inner TV screen'. It's like a fog that won't go away...frenetically trying to keep up during conversation and losing train of thought half way through, struggling to follow instructions. Reading the same paragraph over and over until the letters and words don't have meaning anymore. The social anxiety that comes with it all. Am I going to look stupid if I do this wrong? Why does everyone else seem to understand what's going on? Gaaaaah I've checked out again, why can't I read this anymore?!? My only reprieve from the fog and the static: art. I am nearly 30 years old, and still I find myself in an almost meditative, hyper-focused, super-trance sitting on the floor in my studio with my scissors and my tulle and my glitter. Only then does the static seem to dissipate, and I am one with my creations.

Ship In A Bottle
This contains a true story. This is about how we should plan when we want to get something and hit a target or goal illustrated by something that I did as a kid. I thought I had written about this on my main blog SevenDaysIn but I could not find any trace of it when I searched, so this is the first time that I have possibly written about it, although my memory tells me otherwise.

Speak-Up Superpower
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where there’s a group of people standing around talking and you're there acting like some kind of mute nobody. You feel like you’re not worthy of contributing to the conversation because really, who would want to listen to you anyways?

Building a Castle in Alberta
“You are building a what?” the neighbours questioned and chuckled under their breath. “ You know you can’t build there right? it floods” they said, but I thought to myself what a better place to build a castle but on a flood plain. Castles are always surrounded by water or on top of a mountain right?.

UNEXPECTEDLY
As the first rays of daylight streamed into Jane's bedroom window, the alarm clock's harsh loud sound cut into the silence of her room. Jane hit the snooze button for 15 more minutes of sleep. Again, the alarm goes off and Jane hesitantly leaves the warm safe comfort of her bed and heads to the bathroom.

The World Needs More Diversity — How I’m Planning to Change
For a guy that writes about change for the world, I’m sure not acting like I’m about to change that world. We need more diversity, different colored pens. I’m planning to change that, as I gained my self-respect back.

Introducing Creativity to a Pair of Scissors
Creativity seems to hold a life of its own inside of every creator. Like a hibernating animal, it can survive in the deepest, darkest places of a soul only to bear itself into the light whenever a creator is ready to explore. It never dies, but only goes dormant. A Creator’s task is to not only breathe life into creativity with time and energy, but to be a lifelong learner of its personality. Introducing creativity to tools and an open, determined mind can generate unique beauty that continues to provide it with sustanence.
