The Problem With Entitlement
So let me start by painting a picture for you. It’s the holiday season, let’s say BC, (Before Covid) and you are walking into your favorite store to do some Christmas shopping. At the door you see that staple of the season, the red Salvation Army kettle with the bell ringer. You know the bell ringer personally so you strike up a conversation and start to walk off. They yell your name and ask you where your donation is. You tell them you don’t have anything extra to give and they get UPSET. They begin to question you and demand to know why you didn’t give anything….so what do you say…the nerve of this dude, turn around and ask them ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! To your surprise they reply yes.

2020 Taught Me...
This year, 2021, will be all about personal commitment and challenging myself. We all face challenges so why not choose ones for improvement? I want to be more intentional... I listened to a masterclass on Alignment in business yesterday and it’s a balancing act really. Being the wanderer that I am, I usually just “go with the flow.” I’m always “lost in the right direction.” I can’t say that pursuing my interests hasn’t led me anywhere I don’t wish to be but setting intentions helps me manifest and keeps me aligned with my purpose. I would also like more self-awareness, can never do without it really especially as an actor. I wrote about some challenges that I inadvertently set for myself last year and their outcomes. Read about it here:

2021, let good deeds be done!
As we ring in the new year, I (like many others I'm sure) are wondering if by ringing in a new year, we can ring in a new year completely unlike the weird and scary year that 2020 was. 2020 was surreal and completely different than any other that I have lived. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there were many strange and scary years that happened before my birth. But 2020 was different somehow. It felt like at any moment, things could come crashing down around you. And I don't know about you, but life sure felt like it came crashing down around me. From covid scares to quarantine, from losses to cars being broken into, from car accidents and brain injuries; life still goes on, even in 2020.

Walking A Tightrope
When you feel like you are walking through life on a tightrope, every little movement seems so unsteady. Over what appears to be a deep, never ending, dark endless chasm below. You are stranded in the middle, knowing that behind you is the past and what lies before you is an uncertain future. The fear inside freezes you in time and sometimes makes you unable to move. Thoughts run through every inch of your body. You know you don’t ever want to move backwards, but there are moments you wouldn't mind living over again. Not the painful ones but the beautiful ones. Ahead of you can be just as scary as looking back. We want to be positive and see the light at the end of the tunnel but it seems like the light has been turned off due to lack of payment. With every gust of wind or unsteadiness on our part we risk falling. Falling off the tightrope and being washed away into the abyss below.

Feeding The Fear
During this global pandemic I realized a few things. One of them being, how the human race handles stress under pressure and how we treat one another. One can argue that we have the power and right to act accordingly as we live in a society that is constantly telling us that they always know best.. but in the grand scheme of things...do we even know what's best for ourselves? Like many people during these times, I had the opportunity to bunker down with myself for a solid four months. What I came to understand is how I still did not know much about who I was nor was I trying. What I learned is that at a later age, I inherited most of my parents' bad habits and picked up a few along the way. I guess I was waiting for some sort of divine intervention and began praying to God for some handouts, just when I felt I was slipping into a world of chaos.

A Most Difficult Year
When you begin a new year, you expect the most out of it in terms of happiness, health, and opportunities. You hope for the best and pray to avoid the worst. However, there are going to be years that don’t live up to expectations and if anything, topple over any kind of expectations you had to begin on January 1st. The first year I can remember in my lifetime where expectations are dashed, lives are thrown off course, and uncertainty is the norm rather than the exception is 2020.

Choose a Happy Future by Choosing a Right Role Model
What is a Role Model? Imagine a huge beacon on the hill by the sea, which lights up the utter darkness. Without its light, you couldn’t see anything, but now it seems like the day has come to replace this scary and cold night.

5 Things Super Productive People Never Do In The Morning
As Richard Whateley once said, “Lose an hour in the morning, and you will spend all day looking for it.” The best morning habits put in the perfect mood to get things done. Highly productive people choose what to focus on the morning carefully.

I Talk Too Much About My Problems
I talk too much about my problems. Everyone has issues, and it feels great to express the feelings that come with them. However, I’ve found myself giving up on my rants once I realized I’m talking in circles. Way better than I used to be, but still catching myself combatting solutions by restating the problem. It goes back and forth like this until I’m so frustrated I cry. Sadness, disappointment, and discontent feel like the only appropriate emotions these days. To put it clearly, I think I’m addicted to negativity.
