Living with Passion
Passion. A seven-letter word defined as “an intense desire or enthusiasm for something”. Well, I am the type of person who has many things I pour my passion into. For example, I am huge on saving the planet and the animals within it. I am passionate about reading and how important it is to escape reality for a little while in a good book. I care a lot about spreading awareness for many things I have like anorexia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, and also for things I am like bisexual, or even for things I don’t personally relate to. I’m passionate about crystals and spirituality. I’m passionate about fashion and expressing myself without fear or judgment. I’m passionate about making my life the best it can be for me, and not just following others’ expectations of me. I’m crazy passionate about spreading love and positivity to everyone I meet even if they’re strangers. But most importantly, I’m passionate about living.

Bedtime stories that shape who you are
What am I passionate about? You ask a good question. When I first read this challenge title, I felt an immense pressure, I thought, ‘well, I’m passionate about a lot of things’, sometimes I feel so much passion for things that I overwhelm myself (a little like I’m doing now). I know there are so many of you that feel the same as me, maybe even all of you feel the same way, that’s why we’re here after all, because we are all passionate about writing and making a difference in some way.

The Story
I believe everyone on this earth deserves to have a voice, and that voice doesn’t just come from talking, a voice can also be read. Whether it can be read visually like through art with expression and creativity or even through dance with movement and emotion. It’s not just the sounds or words we say that lets us speak freely but, its how we let out our thoughts and feelings to the world. That’s when we struggle to find that inner voice that just wants to be heard. This is where that old saying “that actions speak louder than words” comes to life and that it is true. This was how I found my inner voice and I wanted to take action to show the people around me that I do have a voice and that was through my creative writing. There was once a time where I felt like I did not have a voice and it took a long journey for me to get to where I am to the point where I can now speak freely with no fear of any judgement.

Hermit's Guidance
“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are”. -Carl Jung I believe the most unseen and perhaps most difficult struggle most of us face in our lifetime is the one we have with ourselves. Even if we don’t speak of our private struggles openly with those around us, I believe that on some level, every one of us questions who we are and what our purpose is in this fleeting lifetime. It’s inherent- the need for understanding, and some of us go to great lengths to understand everything we can about ourselves so that we may better navigate life. Some of us go to college for a degree in psychology, hoping that if we understand the inner workings of our physical brain, we can get a better idea of why we do and want the things we do on a grander scale. Sometimes it works, and sometimes, even though we absorb all the information we can get our hands on, it still feels as if there’s something missing.

My “Why” By Deveney Marshall
Being an artist fuels me. It shifts the way I move through the world and changes how I view everything and everyone around me. For as far back as I can remember I have been a creative, if you ask my parents they’ll say I’ve been creating before I even came into this world. My mom says even when I was in her womb I had my own dance “routine” whenever she played certain songs. Creating is a part of my being, there is no me without Art.

Truth. Fact. Lies That Hate Them
The truth is knowledge of a "fact". Which is proof or something not open to question. A suitable synonym, "reality" can be expressed as texture (touch) or experience (sense), not an idea of things, conditions, or situations. Truth isn't what we make it, that will be the "lie". The truth happens or it occurs - it's not created, just like any event. While our definition is in the "present-continuous tense", it helps to focus the life-span of truth on the present. It's accurate, authentic, and it is living. Let us illustrate this with a scientifically proven and accepted event.

Imagine if There Were No Naysayers
John Lennon had it right knowing that we live in a world full of dreamers and that love is all we need. Two things that go hand in hand for those who have a lot to do in life and in the fashion industry. Had it not been for my dreams and love, I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I wouldn’t have taken the chances necessary to make big changes. Who would have thought that a girl born in the Philippines could end up living her dream of being a New York City fashion designer? Certainly, a few of my family members didn't. If I were to give advice to anyone, it would be that if you want to feel right with yourself, you need to do what feels right in your heart.

Top 5 Self-Help Pet Peeves
The Shallow Directive. Have you considered yoga? My first pet peeve is the habit armchair self-helpers have of offering suggestions like “you should think about taking up yoga,” or “try getting out in the sunshine more,” or “have you examined your diet recently?”

No wind and rain, which has rainbow
If you want to climb the peak, you must not fear difficult and risk-resistant; if you want to reach the other side of success, you must not be afraid of the distant and life of the road. Breaking into a butterfly silkworm, sleeping in the sword, is it enjoying a happiness that does not have to worry?

Taking a Chance
What made me start a lipstick line during a pandemic? To be honest, it was a now or never situation. I have always dreamed about starting my own business but never had the drive nor the ambition to do so, mostly because I was afraid of failing, still am. But the difference from then and now is the fact that I now know the importance of having something of value to leave here for my daughter when I am gone. I now know the importance of having something that I can call my own, a business that I have worked hard for, and built from the ground up.

Passion
Lately, the word passion seems to keep getting lost into the abyss of depression. Not by choice, but more because of everyday struggles of life for me. Just about two months ago, an idea had occurred to me that I do not deserve to continue to get wrapped up into the corporate world of Walgreens. With the pandemic passing by us and all the stresses that it had brought upon me was just a lot. The need of trying to become more and to attempt to live life to it fullest has been constantly ticking on my mind. So, there it was, a time I decided to put my two weeks in after six long years. It was the perfect time to take a risk!

The road to harnessing the power of motivation
There have been many times in my life when I felt I lacked a vision, oftentimes succumbing to a rigid form of thinking that would hinder creative exploration and the pursuit of meaningful projects. What got me through was the imagination, strength of spirit, and confidence of those who helped me navigate through life and guide me through the challenges I have overcome. My parents cultivated my discipline, shaped my newfound values, and projected tremendous motivation on me as they navigated through their new life themselves.
