📜 Surah Al-Quraish (سورة قريش) - The Tribe of Quraish #islam
Surah Al-Quraish is a Meccan Surah with four verses. It highlights Allah’s blessings upon the Quraish tribe, particularly security, sustenance, and economic prosperity. Below is a detailed explanation verse by verse with Arabic text, translation, and Tafsir (explanation).

🔹 Verse 1
لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيْشٍۙ ١
(Li’īlāfi Quraysh)
"For the accustomed security of the Quraish."
📖 Explanation:
🔹 Allah begins this Surah by mentioning the special favor He granted to the Quraish tribe—a sense of unity and security.
🔹 The word "إِيلَافِ" (Ilaf) means familiarity, alliance, or unity. The Quraish had an established tradition of trade and travel without fear of being attacked.
🔹 Allah reminds them that this security is not from their own strength, but a divine blessing.
🔹 Verse 2
إِۦلَٰفِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيْفِ ٢
(Ilāfihim riḥlata ash-shitā’i waṣ-ṣayf)
"Their accustomed security in the caravan of winter and summer."
📖 Explanation:
🔹 This verse describes the two major trade journeys of the Quraish:
✅ Winter Journey – They traveled to Yemen where the weather was warmer, and they could trade goods like spices and perfumes.
✅ Summer Journey – They traveled to Syria (Sham) where they traded for food, clothing, and other necessities.
🔹 Allah granted them safe trade routes, while other tribes often suffered from attacks and robberies.
🔹 Instead of being grateful to Allah for this blessing, the Quraish indulged in idol worship and arrogance.
🔹 Verse 3
فَلْيَعْبُدُوا۟ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْبَيْتِ ٣
(Falya‘budū rabba hādhā al-bayt)
"So let them worship the Lord of this House (Kaaba)."
📖 Explanation:
🔹 After mentioning the blessings of security and sustenance, Allah commands the Quraish to worship Him alone.
🔹 The Kaaba, the sacred house of Allah, was located in their land, yet they worshipped idols instead of Allah.
🔹 This verse is a reminder that all blessings come from Allah, and true gratitude should be shown through worship and devotion.
🔹 Verse 4
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍۢ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنْ خَوْفٍۭ ٤
(Alladhī aṭ‘amahum min jū‘in wa āmanahum min khawf)
"Who has fed them (saving them) from hunger and made them safe from fear."
📖 Explanation:
🔹 In this final verse, Allah reminds the Quraish of two great favors:
✅ "Who has fed them from hunger" – Despite the harsh desert environment, Allah provided them sustenance through trade and the sacred status of Makkah.
✅ "And made them safe from fear" – While Arabia was filled with violence and tribal wars, Makkah remained a safe and peaceful city due to the sanctity of the Kaaba.
🔹 This verse teaches that security and provision come from Allah, and He alone should be worshipped.
