To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiiness-Robert Morley

I stumbled upon Jennifer Mason’s singleladynotes Instagram page one evening while going through a breakup with my son’s father. She saved my life that night. Her raw and realness is what makes her so relatable. Her books are inspiring. Her online t-shirts are motivational. She was born and raised in Hillside, New Jersey and left to study business and marketing at North Carolina Central University. Jennifer is a social media influencer who touches the lives of many women daily and I am one of them. She is one of the most influential voices on social media right now. It would be a disservice to just say that she is just a certified medical clinical assistant, a coach, an entrepreneur, a sister, a daughter, and a friend. Jennifer takes on many roles and demonstrates to us women and people of color that we can break barriers and challenges in a world that tries to beat us down. She is an African American woman who demonstrates that we as women can rise from any circumstance. Phenomenally, Jennifer is every woman.

Although the name of her page is singleladynotes, it is for any woman or man for that matter that needs healing, struggle with self-esteem, needs coaching with dating, needs advice, or just a simple prayer. I laugh, I smile, I cry when watching the replay of her videos. I don’t anybody that spends two to three hours on a live letting us ask and talk about as many things as we want. Sometimes we are on there for two and three hours without even realizing. It’s just that good. Sometimes I find myself saying out loud “get out of my head” because I can relate so much to her platform. Some of her Single Lady fashion that read “Flawed and Still Worthy”, “Queen”, “Go Girl”, and “Humber but I Know I’m Pressure” is worn proudly. Her poppin red lipstick and energizing face masks gives us women so much glow and so much as we walk out into the world. Her “I’m Single, SO WHAT” podcast teaches us to live, learn, and prepare to embrace REAL, SAFE love. Her soul-care books that she recommends ranging from biblical stories to her memoirs illustrates what it truly means to make lemonade out of lemons.

I had developed patterns that infected the foundation of my life. I learned as a child to dismiss, ignore, and deny the truth. I yearned for things that was unattainable. I searched for love in all the wrong places, not knowing that the entire time I had to love myself first. Having once been a young girl who once felt ashamed to appear in the light, Jennifer has given me the confident boost that I needed with her live self-care Saturdays, her motivational apparel, her gentle voice, and her group chats with us ladies. It is because of her that I am beginning to have pride in the woman that I am inside and out. I found so much peace and healing by engaging on her lives. There is so much positivity and sisterhood in them.

Jennifer is the embodiment of self-confidence, self-assurance, and self-love. Her voice over Instagram lives has the power to change perspectives in such a realistic way. She has truly been and still is an inspiration to me and many other women who struggle with feelings of doubt and worthlessness. She is an inspiration in so many ways and she does it effortlessly. She started this page just to vent and express thoughts and it became so much more. I am forever grateful that I stumbled across singleladynotes on that lonely winter night.
