We are over a week into 2024, the New Year aura is pretty much gone, but even so, we do have out goals. One could say we have our resolutions. I am no different. April 2024 will mark three years on Vocal, and it still amazes me. It seems like yesterday that I started writing on this wonderful site, yet nearly three years and over 1100 stories later, I've done so much on this site.

Even so, I still feel like I could do more, so with that, here are my goals for Vocal in 2024:

More In-Depth Sports Stories

One thing I plan on doing is going more in depth with my sports stories. I've already done that with my written recaps of every Colorado Avalanche game this season, plus I've also split up certain NFL weekly recaps as well. The latter actually helps me, because it can be daunting trying to cram 13-16 games into one story, so if needed be, I'll split up the recaps on certain weeks (most likely the last weeks of the regular season). I will also do more historic sports pieces; recently, I wrote a story about the NHL's Adams Division, and of course, the Patrick, Norris, and Smythe will follow.

Raise More Awareness

One thing I've done on Vocal is raise awareness of certain issues that really need to be discussed. A lot of you have read my story about "Woke" and what it really means, and I've also written about a lot of key issues as well. I often have themed titles for those stories. "It's Always Something" centers on people who can't go five minutes without getting in trouble. I also have what I call the "Stop Pretending" stories, where I call out a lot of delusions that people seem to have, and then there's the "Stating the Obvious" stories, which also call out a lot of nonsense. I will definitely continue to focus on strong issues that have to be talked about, no matter what they are.

Fiction Stories

I will definitely continue to make up some good thriller stories, because I love it when my imagination runs wild. I'm still amazed that one of my fiction stories was actually a Top Story, that was a huge confidence boost for me. As those of you who read my fics know, all but one of them are fantasy Lifetime pitches and ideas. I love writing these, and I love creating some of the most amazing villainesses for these stories. So yeah, I'll definitely continue to deliver in the fiction department.

I did choose to feature A Scandal to Die For because it's my most recent story, but it's also one I entered in a challenge. That brings me to another goal I have. I really want to win a challenge. I really hope that I do win a challenge. Winning a challenge would be a huge boost. Vocal has increased my confidence in my abilities as a writer, and I'm very grateful to this amazing site for doing just that. If I won a challenge, it would increase my confidence even more. The prize would be a side benefit, but I would be over the moon if I actually won a challenge.

Those are my goals for Vocal in 2024. I plan on doing my very best to fulfill every single one of these goals, because they are all very important to me. I have enjoyed writing every single one of my stories on this site, and I will continue to enjoy writing even more stories! Here's to what should be a very spectacular 2024!
