Samantha Odo

To start, can you share a bit about your journey in the real estate industry? What initially drew you to this field, and what keeps you passionate about it today?

My start in real estate came from a fascination with architecture and urban life. The way spaces shape communities and support people's lifestyles is something I find inspiring. Real estate brings a unique opportunity to be part of people's big decisions, finding a home, building their future. I'm driven by the chance to make a positive difference in their lives, and the constant evolution in the industry keeps things fresh and challenging.

As the Montreal Division Manager at Precondo, what are some of the most rewarding aspects of your role?

Being the Division Manager for Montreal at Precondo brings so many rewards, but my favorite part has to be leading my team through projects that we're all passionate about. Working together to bring new ideas to life and helping the team grow in their careers feels like a big win for all of us. Watching our combined efforts take shape across Montreal is incredibly rewarding, especially when I see young professionals I've mentored stepping up in their roles.

In a competitive industry like real estate, what strategies do you use to stand out and ensure success for both you and Precondo?

In a field as competitive as real estate, relationships really make a difference. For me, it's all about staying connected with clients, making them feel understood and valued. I also keep a close watch on market trends and explore creative marketing approaches, which helps me stay ahead and keeps Precondo a trusted name. Clients want a partner they can trust, and I focus on being that for them.

What would you say are the key qualities that make a successful real estate sales representative? How do you strive to bring those qualities to your work every day?

A successful real estate professional really needs to connect with clients, understand the market, and always prioritize the client's needs above all. Every day, I make a point to actively listen and stay up to date with what's happening in the market. It's more than just a business transaction, it's about giving people the confidence that they're making a decision they'll feel great about.

What has been the most memorable property or project you've worked on so far, and what made it special?

One of the most memorable projects I've worked on was a historic building conversion in Old Montreal. Blending the building's original charm with a fresh, modern design was challenging but incredibly satisfying. I loved knowing that we created a living space that honors Montreal's architectural history while giving residents all the comforts they'd expect today.

Precondo has seen significant growth during your tenure. What would you attribute this success to, and how has your leadership contributed to this upward trajectory?

Precondo has grown significantly during my time here, and I think a lot of that comes down to our focus on putting the customer first and our willingness to try new things. It's rewarding to see how technology and innovative ideas are shaping our approach, and I feel proud to be part of a team that values collaboration and quality above all.

How do you manage the balance between creating beautifully designed spaces and ensuring they're practical and marketable for potential buyers?

When it comes to designing spaces, I believe there has to be a balance between beauty and practicality. It's a constant collaboration with architects and designers to make sure spaces are as functional as they are appealing. Understanding what buyers actually need, beyond just aesthetics, helps us create homes that feel as good to live in as they look.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the Montreal division and your career in real estate? Any new projects or exciting plans on the horizon?

Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue expanding the Montreal division's reach. We're planning projects that focus on sustainability, which is something I'm particularly passionate about. The idea of creating homes for eco conscious buyers makes the future of our division something I'm genuinely looking forward to.

Outside of real estate, what other passions or interests do you have that keep you inspired?

Outside of real estate, I'm really into travel and photography. Seeing new places and capturing unique moments gives me a sense of renewal, and I love how it adds fresh inspiration to my work. There's something about experiencing new cultures and landscapes that gives me a broader perspective and a creative spark.

Being a role model in real estate, especially for women in leadership, what advice would you give to others looking to make their mark in this industry?

For anyone, especially women, looking to build a career in real estate, my advice is simple, keep learning, connect with others, and stay resilient. Real estate offers endless opportunities if you're willing to put yourself out there, adapt, and grow. This industry has so much potential, and with a bit of persistence and passion, there's no limit to what you can achieve.

In sum, real estate has become much more than a career for me, it's a way to bring value to people and communities, something I deeply care about. I'm grateful to be part of an industry that lets me grow while making a difference, and I can't wait to see where the next chapter takes us.
