Meet Kid Codeine

What’s your name and where are you from?

I go by the name of Kid Codeine, also known as Jordvn, for both sides of my music. I’m from Woodbridge Va, DMV born and raised, high school dropout on the route to be a self-made millionaire. I stand up for all of VA.

Why do you love what you do?

Man, I can feel everything when I’m in the music. There’s no greater way to sublet what I am feeling and going through. I love the way it sits with me after recording. It’s a feeling of accomplishment and a release from the pressures of the world. I also love how my music affects people, coming from both vibes of music I put out. Kid Codeine is my hype, expressive side that loves to have a good time, and Jordvn is my relatable and nonchalant side. It’s something you have to listen to in order to observe what I’m talking about.

What makes you different?

Well, I’m just me. My sound presents itself as its own. Most artists say they have altered egos, but I just be feeling different things at different times. My music translates from how I’m feeling at that moment. It’s one of those things where the music speaks for itself. I'm pretty raw with a lot of the things I say, not too much filtering happening here. Never have I ever put on a front for anyone. I’m all smiles and good times until you cross me.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

This is a great question. I definitely see myself on stage every other night making a living doing what I love. Honestly, I'm manifesting the life I want to live daily. It's all part of my mindset. I’m a huge believer in the Law of Attraction, and I’m very excited to see what the universe has in store. I just know that I will be 10 times more successful than I am right now. I have a beautiful family and I wanna see them all set up for success as well. I really need them to know that their dad is doing great things for them. I have to be their prime example of hard work and dedication. I want them to know anything is possible if you put your mind, body, and soul into it.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

I want my mind and music surrounding the world. I want to make people feel their deepest emotions. Make them happy, sad, and remind them they are important and they matter. I hope to motivate others to find themselves, but I also wish for financial freedom. And I will be financially free. I need people to know my story and understand that there is no dream too big and no accomplishment too far from your grasp. I’m the prime example of a broken home, just a kid seizing any and all opportunities. Unfortunately, I lost my dad unexpectedly this past year during Thanksgiving weekend. I'm doing this for him. Five years from now, I know he’ll still be looking down on me, proud of what he sees, knowing I never have and never will give up.

What do you bring to your industry?

I’m being a continuous fire in my music, a light you can’t put out. Something that everyone will relate to for generations to come. I have feel-good music, the type of vibes that anyone can relate to if they actually listen. So anyone who listens and watches me move, anyone who invests in me, will never regret it. I have so many styles of music in me I produce. I can never tell you what I’m going to do next. It’s simply a feeling, so stay tuned and take this versatile journey with me.

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want the world to remember me as the poor, real, cool kid who made a difference in people’s day-to-day lives. Through the strength of my music, I want people to remember a sound that just suddenly made them relate. I want to have a timeless song for every emotion a person can feel. I want my kids to remember me as their fun and loving dad, who was there for them no matter what the problem was. I want them to remember me as a true leader and be the prime example of what a man should be. You will remember me, my word is bond.
