Meet Christian Donadio

Meet Christian Donadio

What’s your name and where are you from?

I’m Christian Donadio and I’m a fashion designer from Virginia.

Why do you love what you do?

I love what I do because fashion is an everyday art form that you can not only wear, but you can design for other people to wear. I love telling a story through fabric and design, taking an idea from concept to completion. I believe there is a lack of divinely inspired creativity in the fashion world. By that, I mean that I use fashion and design to convey a message, not just to wear clothes. Not only is fashion a wearable art form, but it is also an expression of yourselves and how you want to be perceived by others.

What makes you different?

I am the founder and designer of LAMB FABRICAE. Through LAMB, I create garments that garner reactions. My work is controversial because the message behind my work is counter cultural. What makes me different is that I tell my point of view through clothing. I don’t make pieces just to look cool; I make them to start a conversation. The clothing I make has a story behind each piece. Each piece in my collections has a backstory behind it. You can research and explore to discover layers of meaning and expressions of myself and the world around us. LAMB FABRICAE is a brand people can wear and discover meaning in. This isn’t just a graphic on a t shirt or sweat pants with a logo.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself as a leading designer in fashion. Staying away from “fast fashion,” I will dive deeper into making clothing that lasts and tells a story that is timeless. In five years, I hope to see five thousand people around the world wearing my clothes. This will look like five thousand conversations started by the stories behind five thousand pieces. I want a fan base that wears my close because they study the meaning behind the design, not just because of their aesthetic. In five years, I see myself doing full runway shows, marked by the theatrical and designed to move people emotionally. My shows will be a spectacle, not just for the unique styles, but the even more unique stories they tell and perspectives they bring.

What do you want to accomplish in life?

Other than leaving my mark on the fashion world, I want to speak through clothes to tell a story that I know is true. I want to design clothes that tell stories and start conversations. And conversations change the world. When all is said and done, I want my designs to evoke deep emotions and resonate with the human condition. I want people to have a connection with not only the vision but with me through my work. I want to inspire people as much as people inspire me.

What do you bring to your industry?

I bring a story that hasn’t been told before. I bring a new form of fashion, inspired by the Scriptures. I marry controversy with love. I elevate fashion by infusing design with the divine. I bring a new paradigm and way of thinking to the fashion industry and the religious world. I anticipate that people will move away from fast fashion to embrace higher quality clothing that resonates with those who wear them. I will elevate fashion to represent the creativity in the divine.

What do you want to be remembered by?

I want to be remembered as someone who changed people’s perception of reality and life. I want people to know that there is greater meaning in life. People who wear and study LAMB FABRICAE will know that they are not wearing my story, they’re wearing His story. Only when we know we are woven into the fabric of His story can we truly live by His design.
