- What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is A.K.A. The Truth, or David Akanonu off-stage and I'm from Buffalo, NY. Before that Canarsie, Brooklyn and I got mad love for the city it's a wonderful place to be full of energy and all types of motivations.
- Why do you love what you do?
I love to sing, rap, write music, hoop, travel, and enjoy genuine presence in real time not through a screen. I tend to find out more about myself as I'm on this journey into the music industry, so I know that the things that I love to do will increase.
- What makes you different?
I'd say when others hear my music they can't compare me to one artist because I don't stick with one sound. I'm very experimental, versatile and diverse with my sound. It definitely captures my personality, but the fact that I can rap and sing seamlessly in a song is my strong suit. I can give you John Legend, Usher, Bryson Tiller, Giveon to J.Cole, Childish Gambino, Rexx Life Raj, Kendrick in one song or create an entirely different sound... my sound.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Filling stadiums, winning a few Grammy's, being able to meet my supporters and fans in real life. Putting on for my supporters and giving back to my community of supporters and those in my family. I want to be able to impact and bless someone's life knowing they can't pay me back because I have worked hard enough for that type of impact. I was never well off but my mindset is and that'll propel me into a whole new level that not even I can predict.
- What do you want to accomplish in life?
I'd want my music to be the stepping stone to ultimately explore most of the creative sides of me and aid me in future business ventures. Truly I'd want to live doing what I'm passionate about in every stage of my life because passions change. I'd love to act at least once or twice, being in Euphoria or something similar would be an incredible dream to bring to life. I'd like for my mother to be happy and I'd like to repay her, even though I know I won't even be able to come close, for all the sacrifices she made for me and everything's she's done for me to be the man that I am.
- What do you bring to your industry?
I bring a new perspective on self-awareness, I dig deep, I hit the surface and I give you all of the raw material in between. I will give you music you that you'll never get tired of because there is a different vibe with every track. I bring a fresh take on sound and production, and my creation will have you guessing what else I can do. If you hear a track that's got you locked in but disturbingly curious then you'll know that it's A.K.A. The Truth. Take a listen to Problems ft Constance, to That's Change, then take it back to First Love those tracks are all examples of how versatile my sound is. It's the Truth!
- What do you want to be remembered by?
A modern-day renaissance man, A.K.A. The Truth, the first generation Nigerian boy who accomplished more than he prayed for with the sacrifices his mother sacrificed for him to be born in America. I want to be remembered as the one who stayed true to himself t'ill the very end.

Meet Khalif Thompson
My name is Khalif Thompson and I am from Atlantic City, New Jersey. I am a black 18 year old content creator, aspiring actor, writer, and music artist. I moved after Hurricane Sandy in 2012, to Newark, NJ where the documentation of my creative aspirations began. Content creation is not just an art to me, it's a way of healing and creating the lost boy in myself I've been reaching to find and express to the world. I approach the creative realm differently because I strive to create content that is solely aligned with my identity. I am constantly aiming to create the boy I've always shied away from, but so desperately wanted to become outside of who the world told me I should be. I love what I do because of the passion and creativity creating builds and sharpens inside of me. More importantly, over the span of my 5 year content creating journey, I have impacted and touched millions of people simply by recognizing my own talents, the power of my words, the art of laughter, and the passion of creating. I love what I do because after years of praying to discover what it is I was sent on this earth to do, I am constantly reassured that my life’s purpose was to create, break barriers, and inspire in some capacity. What I create is different because my content serves as an escape to societal expectations that have been placed on me as a queer, black, young adult in America. In 5 years, quite frankly, the Universe may take me anywhere. I don't have a set out 5 year plan, but what I do hold on to is love, faith, God, and my creativity and whatever it has sketched out for me in the years to come, I accept it gracefully. What I am to accomplish in life is creating a space where I can happily, financially, and peacefully coexist with the idea that I have made my mark either cinematically or creatively on this earth. I push to help those around me become the best and most dreamed versions of themselves through tactics of positivity and love. What I bring to the entertainment industry that’s different from the content/art I’ve experienced is a sense of authenticity. To know me is not to understand, but rather to find yourself puzzled within my complexity. I make strides towards making sure that what I present, create, and spread is fully attached to the ember of my being, but also to the freedom of my expression and avoidance of societal limitations. The entertainment industry has a tendency to try to box creators in & categorize them, but I am to be as multitalented and free of what’s expected of what it means to be a creator. I want to be remembered for the impact/influence my art has had on the world and for the individuals I have helped heal and inspire to delve deep and lay themselves at the foot of the things they are most passionate about. I want to be remembered for the legacy I’ve set for the legion of creators/artists/directors/producers/executives/ and all of those, whether apart of or not, who value the arts and creativity as much as I value them in life.
