Letting Life Happen

Oh Well

One thing I've learned in the past 3 years is that moving on and loving yourself is essential for growth. If we mentally tell ourselves that we won't make it out of what's happening and that we don't deserve better, we'll never reach a point where we actually can see positivity. Now, I'm not talking about the kind of positivity that forces you to believe everything will be okay when you know in your heart that it isn't; nor the "smile anyway the pain" kind of positive. I'm talking about the positive of moving on and knowing you are worth so much more. The positive of making it through those situations and being able to look proudly in the mirror.

Often, we beat ourselves up and tell ourselves that we've failed, but I wonder have we failed when we've moved on? I know, just as well as anyone, it's easier said than done; that it takes time, effort, and energy to push yourself into a place of loving who you are. Everyone has their own way of handling their issues, but I believe in moving on. I believe there is always more and we can never do wrong by focusing our love where it needs to be shown the most: to yourself. Life can't just be full of hard times or self-loathing; and often, we only feel that way after someone sends us an unwanted invitation to those feelings.

Moving on has helped all of us take charge over our own lives. We often give so much power to things, or people, trying to hold us back and it makes us lose sight of the self love we've been working toward. We have to recognize that we have a choice to sink or swim and when we move on, we swim. Don't let anyone drag you into their hurricane. So, let your worries drift away while you Michael Phelps it through the rough times. You deserve to live the life you were given and you deserve to move on.

I believe in giving yourself room to deal with and make it through your circumstances no matter what they may be, and then seeking better. Whether it's a new career path, a new place to live, or leaving any toxic relationship in the past, you deserve to see life past the negatives that may attempt to derail your progress. People often put up road blocks for others when they don't get their way; but at that point, you've just become too big for their small world.

Like the saying goes, "misery loves company", but unfortunately for them, you're in the VIP section. You have outgrown point A and you're on the path to point B! All you have left to do is take your power back. Know that you deserve to make life exactly what you want it to be and moving on from what's keeping you down now is one way to do it. So, oh well to the drama, oh well to the misunderstandings, and oh well to the negativity.

Honestly, none of us asked to be here, so the least we can do is make it a little better for each other while we are here. We have to reach into ourselves and show the same love we would want others to show us. It may hurt, but your light is outshining the darkness and some people just don't like sunlight, so move on. You are more than what you're going through. Your mindset can change your life. You have to believe in the power of you. Trust and believe in you. Self love may be outlandish to some but, to me, it's the golden ticket.
